During a break from recording, Denise wandered over to where Jada, Olivia, Avva, Kate, and Dara had gathered in a corner of the studio, lounging on a few chairs and the couch. They were all chatting casually, sipping water, and enjoying the breather.
Denise plopped down beside them, letting out a satisfied sigh. “Man, the guys are really in the zone today.”
Jada laughed, crossing her legs as she glanced toward the booth. “Yeah, I’d say so. They’ve been at it for hours.”
Olivia grinned, running her fingers through her blonde hair. “Well, we better enjoy the downtime while we can. Once we hit the road for the tour, things are going to get *crazy*.”
Denise raised an eyebrow, intrigued. “Speaking of the tour... what do you think we should do backstage when the guys are performing? I mean, we’ll be with them, but there’s going to be a lot of downtime between sets.”
Avva leaned forward, her dark hair framing her face as she thought about it. “Good question. We could always help out with the behind-the-scenes stuff, but it might be more fun to plan something special for each night. You know, keep things interesting.”
Kate, ever the creative one, chimed in. “Ooh, we could put together mini surprise parties! Like, each city we visit, we could do something different backstage. Set up little themes, decorate the dressing rooms. Maybe have fun games or even karaoke with the crew.”
Dara smiled, nodding in agreement. “That sounds awesome. Plus, it’d be a great way to keep the guys on their toes. They’ll never know what to expect when they come offstage.”
Denise giggled, loving the idea. “You know, Uno loves surprises. He’d totally get into that.”
Jada smirked. “Angelo, too. He’d pretend he’s too cool for it, but trust me, he’d secretly love it.”
Olivia crossed her arms thoughtfully. “Lance... now, he’d probably act all serious at first, but the second someone starts a game of charades or something, he’s all in.”
Denise grinned. “We could definitely make it fun. But we should plan something for each city, like Kate said. It’ll be a good way to make sure we’re part of the tour in more than just a supportive role.”
Avva nodded eagerly. “And we can take turns coming up with the themes! I’m already thinking of a 90s night for one of the shows. We could even dress up and take pictures with the band.”
Denise laughed at the thought. “That would be amazing. Uno in a 90s tracksuit? I can already picture it.”
As they continued brainstorming ideas, Denise’s gaze drifted over to the recording booth. The guys had huddled together, clearly taking a break from the serious recording. Uno, Lance, Angelo, Matt, and Lorenzo all looked like they’d downed one too many energy drinks or perhaps had too much coffee because they were swaying slightly, looking a little... tipsy?
Denise squinted. “What are they...?”
Then she heard it. Uno’s voice—slightly off-key—leading the rest of the band as they launched into a rather drunk-sounding rendition of I Want It That Way by the Backstreet Boys.
Uno, with his smooth voice, tried to keep it together as he sang the opening lines, but it was clear they were all messing around. Lance joined in, looking like he was about to burst into laughter, and Angelo swayed dramatically with his drumsticks in hand, like he was at some karaoke bar. Matt played a few clumsy notes on the keyboard, his usual precision nowhere to be found.
Denise covered her mouth, trying to stifle a laugh. “Oh my god, they look... drunk.”
Jada, catching on, leaned over to peer through the booth window. “Is that... are they really singing I Want It That Way?”
