"So, it's come to this.." You murmured from your spot next to Kidou in the stands. The match was a mere minute away from ending, and Raimon had earned themselves a free kick.

Now, let's not question the logistics of soccer here. Because, well, you could quite literally spawn in penguins and have fire coming out of your ass in this type of soccer. So it was only natural that you didn't question that fact that two players were standing by the ball, the small wind of tension passing through.

Sugimori readied up. The numerical data appeared before him, showing the probability of who would take the shot. It was, unsurprisingly, 89% for Gouenji, with 9% for Someoka, and 2% for other players.

The air seemed to suffocate you as Someoka subtly stepped back before running towards the ball. Lifting his leg up high behind him, he stopped in front of the ball before kicking aimlessly and continuing to run off. Behind him Gouenji appeared, a determined expression on his face as he neared the ball.

You leaned forward slightly, your brows furrowed in slight confusion. Gouenji completely missed the ball too.

Within the mist of tension, and with all eyes on the strikers of Raimon, no one seemed to notice the captain of the team running from the other side of the pitch.

And, as if by some miracle, he made the goal.

An impressed hum left your lips, sensing the same feeling radiating off Kidou. Though his was more depreciating and criticising than yours. "Their data only goes so far as to show reproducible data."

"So by using an unpredictable situation, Raimon's managed to throw them off." Kidou's continuation was cut off by the whistle going off, announcing Raimon's advancement. "And ultimately led them to win."

You sighed, leaning down to pick up your violin case that was by your side. The only reason you were able to be with Kidou right now was because you used the excuse of having violin practice for the competition tomorrow.

It wasn't a complete lie — you and Kidou had practiced for a few hours moments beforehand, while also adding in a moment to discuss what Natsumi had found a few days ago.

It was a miracle, honestly. The timing could not be more perfect for them.

Your eyes landed on the field as the match drew to a close, the stands erupted in a cacophony of cheers and applause. Raimon's team members were a blur of jerseys and flailing limbs, celebrating their victory.
