   Caleb's Pov

The next morning, the memory of last night was still lingering in my mind. My brain was crowded with questions, 'Who was she?', 'Will I ever meet her?'.

I never behaved like this. Absolutely never for a girl. She had something attractive. Her eyes.

The intensity they held at that moment can even burn me. If you look deeply into those black orbs, their color will change. They won't be the same. You would feel like submerging yourself deep in there that even she herself can't save you.

I was supposed to find about her as I decided yesterday but here I was roaming in the campus for God knows what! Classes start at 8 am and currently it is 7:15. I was here before the whole school except principal because I wanted to see who that new admission is that everyone in the school gossiping about. What's that special in her? She is just another topper.

My phone buzzed in my pocket, and I took it out to check the caller Id.

It was Mom.

She owns this school, and we can say she's the school director. She never called me unless she wanted to resolve a personal issue. She puts her fame above anything else. Let it be herself or her family. No emotions. Just a regular scowl and sitting in front of a laptop and working like an ox. Based on that she rarely called me. I was Perfect in all aspects and that provided a clear reason for her not checking up on me.

It was strange. I received the call and greeted her. In return I just got an order. "I want you in my office right now." she absently said. Before I could say something, she disconnected the call.

As I entered the office, the familiar scent engulfed me. My gaze landed on a figure standing by the window, her back turned towards him. Long sleek black hair cascading down her back, and for a moment, my breath hitched. She looked painfully similar.

Could it be...?

My heart throbbed in my chest as those eyes flashed back in my mind. The eyes I couldn't stop thinking about. My mother's voice broke through my thoughts.

"Cal, meet Akshita. She's a new admission, my best friend's daughter." she smiled warmly. "I wanted you both to meet as you know school don't allow girls and boys to meet each other."

Akshita. The name echoed in my head like a taunt.

As the girl turned around, my worst fear was confirmed. It was her- the girl from last night. My stomach twisted. Those mesmerizing eyes again. Now, she was standing in front of me, my school, my territory and I had to act like I hadn't been obsessing over her the whole night.

As my stomach churned again, my mind spiraled into another realization- Akshita was the girl everyone had been whispering about. The new student who was already getting attention. The one who might beat me at the top of the class.

WHY HAS IT TO BE HER?

I was staring at her like a creep, and I didn't realize that until my mom spoke up.

"Do you know each other?" my mom interrupted.

"No, mam. I haven't even saw him before." she replied politely.

That gave me my answer. She doesn't recognize me. I'm just a schoolmate she just met. Should I ask her? No, no what if she doesn't know me really and just looks the same as that girl?

"Yea, she is right. I even just met her today only." I uttered.

"Nice to meet you, Caleb." she exclaimed.

She sounded so calm and professional from the night when she lashed on me. The room felt small, the air thick. How can I act up all nice after that encounter.
