CHAPTER TEN - VENUS TRAP.

"I'm not sentimental, but there's somethin' bout the way you look tonight, mm, makes me wanna take a picture, make a movie with you that we'd have to hide." - Billie Bossa Nova by Billie Eilish.

Serena had rushed downstairs; on the way she had wondered how she didn't trip and fall. Davidson had gotten to Angelika before her, he had stalked in front Serena, with his sword in his hand, the Salvatore man looked at the Vampire up and down. "Charlotte and Henry won't like the fact that a Downworlder came into the Institute without their over-sight," Davidson said and with her hands clenched, Angelika gently stomped on her foot.

'It's urgent," the red-headed women said. "I need to speak to Serena---" though before she repeated herself again, she had sensed the sweet scent of the Spirit run towards them, so she looked over Davidson, eyes bright to her arrival.

Relieved when Serena aimed towards them, Angelika attempted to speak to her, but Davidson had blocked Serena from coming closer. Serena breathed through her teeth, annoyed, as she pushed away the hair in front of her face. The trio had been outside, the sky stopped raining and the night was at its darkest. The Moon shone above them as Angelika briefly watched how the glow of the crescents danced in Serena's orbs.

The night had been accompanied by the stars, and if Angelika had not been in this circumstance, she'd comment how the Moon complimented Serena. "Serena," Angelika pleaded. "Please make Davidson leave us alone," Angelika frowned and once Davidson glanced at the Venrosa woman, a short look she had sent his way had made him immediately fall to her quiet command.

Davidson returned into the building, and once they had been alone, Serena turned to look at the Vampire. "What is it you need?' Serena questioned and with a deep sigh, Angelika held her gloved hands.

"Serena, I need your blood," Angelika said, and confused, Serena pulled a face. "Not for me," Angelika explained. "For Carlisle...he's gotten obsessed with it, he's denying anything else but what ruins through your veins."

Surprised, Serena folded her arms in disbelief to what she had been told. "Lady Serena," Angelika begged. "The condition he's in, I've never seen it, he can't even walk, Serena."

Serena glowered as her eyebrows furrowed, she hadn't considered any of them becoming infatuated. "Fine," Serena breathed. "I'll get a tube of blood."

"I'd follow," Angelika said. "But the Institute is Holy Grounds so I cannot come in."

Apologetic, Serena nodded her head before she led herself back into the Institute. The only place Angelika could come in was the Sanctuary, though the Vampire remained where Serena had last seen her. When Serena returned back into the building, Davidson had been in the foyer, hands in his pockets as he watched Serena walk by him.

"Did she leave?" Davidson questioned.

"She needs my blood," Serena answered and with his right eyebrow perked, Davidson pushed himself off the wall.
