A/N:

Sorry, this one's shorter than usual. I had a lot of homework to catch up on, and I've had a lot going on recently.

The next morning, Apollo woke first, as he usually does because: a) he's the literal sun, and b) he's an early riser. He found himself on his back, with Percy on top of him. Percy was drooling on his chest. Percy was sleeping in nothing but boxers-though Apollo had no idea how he did that; it was freezing! Percy was snoring softly, and his short black hair was a tousled mess. Apollo reached his hands up and tangled them in his hair, softly rubbing small circles into his scalp.

Percy woke up softly, his eyes fluttering open as he tried to remember what was happening. He closed his eyes and snuggled deeper into the warmth of his pillow. Gods, it's cold here. He thought. He reached down in his bed for a blanket, his eyes still closed. Once he got a hold of one, he pulled it up to his chin, snuggling into his bed. Since when is my bed so hard? He felt nimble hands in his hair softly rubbing circles into his scalp. Percy looked up at the intruder and saw Apollo, his azure eyes staring back at him. "Morning, Seashell." Apollo greeted. "I know it's early, but you have some check-ups with Will today, and he'll be expecting you soon."

Percy groaned. He did not want to go to the check-ups. Will was just gonna poke and prod him and then say, "Oh, you're fine. You can leave now," and then he would walk off and start sucking face with Nico again.

"Percy," Apollo said, knocking him out of his thoughts. "Percy, I know you probably think it's pointless, doing the check-ups I mean, but Will does need to check you up. I would do them myself, but I thought that Will could use some practice," Apollo told him. He muttered something under his breath that Percy couldn't hear all the way. It sounded like something along the lines of: "We can't-oper-someo-lo-"

"Hm?" Percy asked him. "Oh, nothing, it's fine," Apollo told him.

They laid under the blankets a while more, basking in each other's warmth, Percy lying on Apollo's chest, listening to his heartbeat, and Apollo's hands tangled in Percy's hair, rubbing small circles into his scalp. Apollo proposed that they get up to get breakfast, and Percy grumbled. "I'm too tired, Sunshine."

Apollo looked at him. Fuck, this man is gorgeous, Apollo thought. His green eyes were the only thing he ever wanted to get lost in, and his dark hair was always so soft and beautiful. There was no way he was ever going to let any harm come his way. He was going to protect him at all costs, and if he failed, he would hate himself forever.

Before they went to the check-ups, they headed to breakfast, because Apollo had told Percy, "You can't go to the check-ups on an empty stomach! You'll be sick if he gives you any pills!"

They headed to the pavilion for breakfast. Percy got pancakes with a bit of sausage, and Apollo got waffles and eggs. "I wish these pancakes were blue," Percy told Apollo when they got to the Poseidon table. "They would be much better if they were blue, don't you think, Sunshine?" Apollo laughed. "Seashell, unlike you. I am a sensible being, and don't need everything to be blue," Apollo told him. Percy looked disappointed. "But, yes, they probably would be better if they were blue," Apollo told him, giving into the puppy-dog eyes Percy was giving him.

After they finished breakfast, they headed to the infirmary. Will greeted them, and Percy was sent to a bed while Will got things ready.

"Dad!" Will whisper yelled. "Did you and Percy... ya know, do it last night?" Apollo looked astonished. His cheeks turned a burning red, and his eyes widened to the size of saucer plates. "I am surprised you'd even think that! No, We did not," Apollo retorted.

Will did the tests on Percy, and decided he was fine, so Percy and Apollo headed down to the lake. When they got there, Percy pulled out his monster proof phone, and opened his social media.

"WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK!?" Percy yelled. Apollo quickly turned his head to Percy. "Seashell, what happened?" He asked. "Liam fucking Payne just died!" Percy yelled at him, his eyes full of tears. "What? How the hell did he die?" Apollo asked. "Apparently he fell off of a balcony in a hotel," Percy told him. "Was it on purpose or by accident!?" Apollo asked. "I mean knowing what the fucking world has treated him, it was probably on purpose," Apollo rambled.

Pery looked at Apollo, trying to hold his tears back like an almost broken dam, just waiting to break. "Oh, Seashell, come here," Apollo said, holding his arms open. Percy leaned into his arms, the mental dam breaking in his embrace.

"I don't know why I'm so messed up about this, I never even went to his concerts!" Percy said, muffled by Apollo's sweatshirt, his voice breaking. Percy sobbed some more and held Apollo tightly. They stayed like that for a while, people passing by, unaware of what a tragedy had happened.

A/N:

I really don't believe he's dead. I'm still devastated though. I've been crying for longer than I did after the Song of Achilles. I'm gonna miss him.  😭😭 I barely finished this chapter after I found out.
