"Eilgos, why do you insist on hiding in here?" A playful voice echoed through the dimly lit corridor.
Eilgos sighed, his eyes drifting shut as he leaned further into the warm embrace of the steaming water. "Its quiet here and peaceful." he replied, his voice muffled by the dense fog that clung to the chamber's ceiling.
Izzy's footsteps grew closer, the sound of her bare feet against the stone floor. "I expects your presence in the court when I'm there," she said, a hint of urgency in her tone.
Eilgos opened one eye, peering through the steam. "I'd rather not," he murmured. "The elders are redundant." Izzy smiled. "You have a point, but they need to see that you're still with us."
The bathing chamber was a sanctuary of sorts, with water gently cascading from the mouth of a stone gargoyle into the large, marble tub. It was one of the few places in the castle where the ancient tiefling felt at ease, despite his high rank as the queen's advisor. His gray skin looked almost pale under the soft candlelight, his three-toed legs folded awkwardly in the water. He didn't look up as the sound of fabric rustling reached his long ears, they twitched as he glanced up.
Izzy, the queen of demons, stood in the doorway, her red skin gleaming in the candlelight. Her tail swished lazily behind her, the tip brushing against the stone as she approached. "You know they won't dare question me about you," she said, her tone playfully teasing. Her horns, smaller than Eilgos', curled elegantly from her forehead, a stark contrast to the cascade of dark hair that fell down her back.
Eilgos chuckled, his three-toed feet sliding along the tub's smooth bottom. "Yes, but the whispers in the shadows grow louder with each passing day."
Izzy stepped closer, her eyes narrowing slightly. "Whispers?"
"They question your judgment, my queen," Eilgos said, his gaze never leaving hers. "An advisor who shuns the spotlight, who prefers solitude and strategy. They worry I might be a... weakness."
Izzy's smile faltered, but she quickly regained her composure. "Nonsense," she said firmly, as she stepped into the water, the heat not bothering her in the slightest. Her tail wrapped around his in the water as she moved closer to him. "You are no weakness."
Eilgos leaned back, his long black horns brushing the tub's edge. "I know," he said, his voice a mix of amusement and resignation. "But appearances are everything in a court of demons. They expect grandeur and power to be displayed at every turn."
Her hands went to his thighs, gripping them gently. "Your wisdom and counsel are worth more than any show of strength. You're the backbone of my reign, Eilgos." He looked at her.
"Now enough about your weakness or their power I need you right now," she said with a smirk, her eyes glinting mischievously. She slid closer, her red skin almost seeming to glow in the soft candlelight.
Eilgos couldn't help but smile. Despite the gravity of the situation, her touch brought a sense of comfort, a warmth that the steaming water couldn't match. "As you wish, my queen," he murmured.
Izzy's smile grew as she straddled him. Her tail coiled around his waist, pulling him closer. The water sloshed around them as she leaned in, pressing her full lips to his. The kiss was gentle at first, a tender exploration that grew into a fiery dance of passion. His hands found their way to her hips, her skin hot to the touch.
Eilgos felt his body respond, his own desires igniting like the embers of a dormant volcano. He wrapped his tail around hers, deepening the kiss. Their tongues danced together, the warmth of the water and their bodies creating a steamy cocoon around them. He knew the whispers of the court, the whispers of his own inadequacies, but in this moment, he was lost in the embrace of the queen he served.
