I managed to pull my gaze away from hers, and she got up and walked backwards with her phone. I gave her a questioning look.

"Just look forward," she ordered, and I followed. I heard the sound of a camera shutter. I looked back, and I heard it again. "Good," she said as she stuffed the phone back in her pocket and sat back down.

"So... are you going to share the pictures?" I asked.

"Oh, no," she replied nonchalantly. She picked up her bag and searched through it.

"What're you looking for?"

"Found it!" She exclaimed as she held up a marker with a smile on her face. She leaned forward and wrote something down on her sneakers, even though it's not the first thing there. I tried to see what it was, but I could get a clear view.

"Want me to do yours?" She offered, and I accepted as I stretched out my legs, and she moved closer to it, leaned downward, and wrote something on both of them. "And done." She moved away.

I straightened my feet, and it had "love, Sally" written on it.

"Aww, it's cute," I complimented, and she blushed. The moon was getting more visible, and I took that as a sign to head home.

"We should get going," I said.

"Yeah." She agreed. We got up and grabbed the bike. We weren't riding it yet; I just held it as we walked for a while.

"How's my little girl?" She asked.

"Rachel's a champ. She's doing great," I responded.

"Tell her mummy says hi," she said in a baby voice, and I couldn't help but laugh. All this talk of Rachel made me realize that I was supposed to get her a proper fishbowl.

"Speaking of our daughter, I have to get her a proper fishbowl."

She gasped dramatically. "You didn't get her that already. You're really making me rethink this whole parenting situation of ours."

"This would all be easier if we just got together," I laughed, gesturing towards the both of us. She stopped and fell behind. I turned to her and took in the look on her face. I wondered what I said that made her suddenly change, assuming it was actually something I did say, and I heard the sentence replay in my head. I pressed my lips together in regret; I just slipped up.

"Are we still talking about Rachel?" She asked as she walked up to me with her eyes still glued to mine. How did she expect me to come up with an answer when her eyes were devouring my very being at the moment?

"Of course," I managed. It was some sort of miracle that I could say those words.

"Well then" She took the bicycle from me and mounted it. "Let's get going." I sat behind her and wrapped my hands around her waist.

We rode through the lit-up streets, with the stars littered across the sky. I extended my fingers and felt the wind.

"You're definitely something else, Jack," she laughed.

"I'll take that as a compliment," I responded.

We were like characters out of a movie, and we were perfect.

"Let's hope they're still open," Sally said as she took a turn. I was already secretly praying that the pet store was still open and the higher power came through.

I opened the door with Sally behind me, and we browsed through, looking for the perfect fishbowl. We settled on the one in the fishbowl that has this little castle in it. It was only fair that we got that, seeing as Rachel is our little princess.
