alara smiled as she walked into the hospital, greeting all the nurses, doctors, patients and everything in-between as she walked past them. it had been a few weeks since the merge and she was getting used to not only junior's consistent flirting but also the fact that she had a brother.
she had developed some sort of friendship with junior but it felt different. he constantly made it known that he wanted her but she brushed him off because she felt she wasn't ready for a relationship due to everything going on in her life. however, when she told junior that he suggested that they just have sex.
her and milo had also been getting closer and she enjoyed having a brother. they hadn't really seen each other outside of work other than when everyone went to joe's, but she could see them potentially forming a bond reminiscent of a normal sibling relationship in time.
as she focused on the events of the past few weeks going through her mind, she began to focus less and less on her surroundings as she made her way towards the residents lounge, eventually colliding with a muscular chest.
"i knew you wanted me but you could've just said so, there's no need to throw yourself at me." junior smirked at alara as he snaked his arm around her waist, dipping her back.
"the only thing i want from you is for you to disappear." she screwed her face up, blatantly lying which made him laugh.
"that's a funny way of saying thankyou for saving my life." he crooked an eyebrow, pulling her body upwards and setting her upright on the floor, alara trying to hide how fast her heart was beating.
"that's very dramatic." alara rolled her eyes at junior who crossed his arms over his chest with a fake frown. "but thanks i guess." she added on before trying to move past him, junior holding his arms out to the side to stop her.
"it's rude to walk away in the middle of a conversation." he teased, using any opportunity he could to spend time with her.
"it's rude to make me late to work." she scoffed, pressing her finger into his chest, widening her eyes when she realised just how firm it was. "and besides we're going to the same place, you could just walk with me. that's probably too much multitasking for your brain to handle though."
"your dad's the chief of surgery it doesn't matter if you're late." he smiled, knowing that he caught her out. "but if we must get to work we may as well show everyone that we love each other." he taunted, grabbing her hand and intertwining their fingers before leading her down the corridor.
alara continued to smile at everyone as she walked past but couldn't understand why they were all looking at her shocked. until junior squeezed her hand with a smile and she remembered what she was doing, yanking her hand out of his and speed-walking off down the corridor.
junior just watched her go. it was obvious to him that she liked him as well but he didn't want to push things too far and make her uncomfortable. for now he'd just settle for flirting and annoying her whenever he had the chance.

"you doing ok?" mark asked alara as they made their way through the corridors together half an hour later, alara screwing her face up at the man. he'd been her best friend ever since he'd arrived in seattle and had never once asked her how she was feeling, something was up.
