Halloween screamed, abruptly sitting up in bed. She could feel it, she could taste it.
She remembered, again. She hated, again.
"Hey, hey, Hallow!"
Halloween's scream fell silent, her heart calming down. She glanced over to the side, seeing Bunnymund right by the bed she was in.
"Where am I?" Halloween asked, glancing around, trying to understand her surroundings. She was in a room, and when she glanced out the window she noticed the snow and immediately realized she was at the Pole.
"You're at the Pole." Bunnymund glanced at her, trying to see any realization or even remembrance of what happened or the hole in her chest.
"Right..." Halloween mumbled.
Suddenly, she stood out of bed. She took a step, about to make her way to the door but was shocked when she found herself kneeling down on the floor. That's when she realized she felt... empty.
Halloween glanced down and saw the cavity in her chest where her heart normally was.
"Right..." Halloween stood up once again, holding the edge of the bed for help. "Everyone must be in the Globe Room, right?"
Bunnymund nodded, but before Halloween could leave, he spoke;
"Are ya alright, luv?"
Halloween turned around, midway between the bed and the door, giving Bunny a tight smile. "Yes, I'm completely fine."
The worry in Bunnymund did not fade even a little. Halloween has been acting weird ever since she woke up. It doesn't make sense she isn't curious or worried about the hole in her chest, anyone normal would. Not only that, but she's been acting off, distant...
Maybe if he made her mind wander somewhere else than whatever she is thinking, she'll somewhat forget.
"What is your relationship with North?" Bunnymund asked.
Halloween was startled by the sudden question, she wasn't expecting Bunny to care in any way.
"Why, all of a sudden?" Halloween uttered.
"Pitch mentioned somethin' about it..." Bunny walked towards her so he'd stand in front of her, looking into her eyes properly. "And I believe if ya explain, I could understand."
Halloween pursed her lips, averting her gaze from Bunnymund's temporarily. She wasn't interested in speaking of her past relationship with North, but she knew that Bunnymund deserved to know the small hostility between the Guardian of Wonder and the spirit of Halloween.
"All right..." Halloween sighed, making her way back to the bed to take a seat at the edge. "Come sit."
Bunny did as told and took a seat beside Hallow.
"It was... During... Before... After. It—" Halloween sighed, closing her eyes tightly shut. "It was during the year 1001 or anyway during the 1000s... I've only been Hallow's Eve for around 165 years while North has been for 664." Halloween opened her eyes, turning her head to completely look into Bunny's eyes. Bunnymund felt it and he saw. "I was curious back then as well as different... I mean, I was young—new to the whole spirit thing."
. . .
Halloween was watching the Russian man building a whole new creation.
She knew she shouldn't be doing this, watching from a window from the 2nd floor, but she couldn't help it. She hasn't met anyone like her ever since she became Halloween, not that she remembered anything before. She just remembered waking up and having the Moon speaking to her, very shortly might she add.
