Moving to Paris

20 years passed and Hope grew beautifully. All the men in the town wanted her but she turned each of them down. Her dream. Was go to Paris and live there.

Her parents fully supported her and soon she earned enough money to go.

She was packing only essentials and put the bag on her horse saddle.

"Ok Grace. We have a long ride. You can handle that?" She asked.

Grace nuzzled her.

"I'll take that as a yes" She chuckled.

She hopped on Grace and grabbed the reigns.

Her mother walked out with a sad smile.

"It's not goodbye forever mom. Just a new adventure for me" Hope said smiling.

"I know dear but still-"

Hope cut her off. "I'll try to visit as often as I can." She said.

She sighed and nodded. She waved goodbye before Grace went out on full gallop.

Hope hanged on tight as Grace was at full speed.

It took 3 days but they arrived at the gates of Paris.

Hope looked around in awe. Grace went to a walk and neighed lightly.

Hope hopped off and pulled a carrot out. She gave it to Grace who ate it.

"There girl. I'm proud of you" She chuckled petting Grace who nuzzled her.

I walked with Grace by my side.

Soon they made it towards a bakery. She could smell the fresh bread being baked.

She walked towards a house and knocked. A girl with blonde hair opened the door.

"Hope! Your finally here" She said smiling. Then saw Grace.

"Is that a Frisian?" She asked.

"Yes. Her name is Grace" Hope said patting Grace.

"This is the foal you raised?!" Emily asked shocked.

Hope nodded.

"She's gorgeous!" She said in awe.

"Do you know any stables I could board her in?" Hope asked.

"Yes I'll show you the way" She smiled and grabbed by hand and dragged be towards a nearby stables.

Hope saw a stable hand and walked over. "Hello. Is there any room to board my horse?" She asked.

The stable hand looked up and nodded. "Yes ma'am." He smiled.

Soon a fat man came out. "You want to board your horse here?" He asked arms crossed.

"Yes sir." Hope said nodding.

"It's 20 coins a month" He said crossing his arms.

"No problem. Can I pay for three until I get a job?" Hope asked.

He chuckled and nodded. He then saw Grace.

"A Frisian. A white one at that." He said in awe.

"That's Grace. I had her since she was abandoned" Hope explained.

He nodded. Then held his hand out. Which Hope gave 60 coins to him.

"There we go. That should be for 3 months" Hope said. "And I will come and help with her. She doesn't trust others easily" She said.

He nodded. "Understandable" He said. He motioned for Hope to follow. Which she did. She lead Grace and he showed her a empty stall. She led Grace inside and started untacking her. She got the saddle, blanket,and bridal off.

"There we go. Now to brush you down" Hope said grabbing a brush and brushing Grace down.  Grace neighed in satisfaction.

She chuckled and soon finished brushing them did the hooves to get the dirt and rocks out.

"You know how to take care of a horse don't ya" The man said.

"I used to help the neighbor out with his horses.  I know how to muk stalls as well." Hope chuckled.

"How about this. You work for me and you'll pay half the boarding. Then I'll give you 5 extra for every stall and horse you care for" He said smirking.

"I'll accept. Gives me more time with Grace here. I'll come every morning to do the chores" Hope said. He nodded. "Morning girl. I like you already!" He laughs.

"You'll start tomorrow." He said and turned to leave.

Hope nodded and gave Grace one last pat before leaving.

She saw Emily waiting. "So I got a job here" She chuckled.

Emily laughs. "Good job! When do you start?" She asked.

"Tomorrow" Hope chuckled.

Emily nodded. Then they walked back to Emily's house.

Emily showed Hope her room and well the whole house.

"My husband should be home soon. You remember Jack right?" she asked.

"I remember him alright" Hope said smirking.

Emily giggled.

Soon both girl got dinner started and gossiped until Jack came home.

"I'm home!" He yelled.

Emily rushed over and hugged him. Kissing his cheek "welcome home honey bun!" She smiled.

Hope rolled her eyes and continued cooking.

"I see Hope is here" He smirked.

"Yes. She already got a job as a stable hand!" Emily said.

He nodded. "What's for dinner?" He then asked.

Hope walked in. "Bread and with ham" She said.

"Delicious" He chuckled.

Everyone sat down and served themselves.

"So Jack. I heard your part of the guard now" Hope said smirking.

"Yes. I get to hunt down the criminals" He laughs.

"Not everyone are criminals" Hope said.

He scoffed. "In their own way they are."

Hope eyes narrowed. Emily put a hand on her shoulder calming Hope down.

After dinner Emily cleaned dishes since Hope cooked.

Hope went to her room and went straight to bed. Wondering what the future would hold for her.
