Acne, commonly referred to as zits or pimples, is a skin condition that affects many people, especially during puberty. 🤔💥

CAUSES

Excess oil (Sebum) 💧
Your skin produces too much oil, which can clog pores.

Dead skin cells 🧴
When your skin sheds, the cells can pile up and block pores.

Bacteria 🦠
P. acnes bacteria thrive in clogged pores, causing inflammation.

Hormonal changes 👨‍🎤➡️💥
Especially during puberty or menstrual cycles, which increase oil production.

Diet 🍫 🍕
Some studies suggest sugary or dairy-heavy foods might contribute.

Stress 😰
Stress can trigger the production of more oil.

TYPES OF ACNE

Blackheads ⚫️
Open pores filled with oil and dirt that turn dark.

Whiteheads ⚪️
Pores closed off with oil and skin cells, forming white bumps.

Pimples 🔴🤢
Infected, inflamed red bumps with pus.

Cysts 😣💥
Larger, painful bumps under the skin.

TREATMENT

Cleansing 🚿
Wash your face gently to remove oil and dirt.

Topical treatments 💊
Like benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid.

Prescription meds 💉
If severe, you might need antibiotics or retinoids.

Avoid picking
Picking at acne can make it worse and cause scars!

Take care of your skin, and do not be afraid to talk to a dermatologist if it's tough to manage! 👩‍⚕️🧴
