It was only natural that he would worry. His new wife was so small. Her hands and feet looked dainty as a doll's, and so did her delicate white face. He had to force himself to be harsh with her, but no matter how hard he tried to control his strength, his sword-trained grip was strong enough to hurt her. He had no choice but to let her go, in spite of his suspicions.

Annette slipped out of his grasp and rose from her seat. She didn't want to miss this opportunity. Softly, she said good night, trying her best not to let it appear that she was running away from him.

"I'll go back to my room today, Raphael, I think you had a little too much to drink. If you have any questions for me, let's talk tomorrow when you are sober. I'll be going now, then."

Annette felt quite proud of herself, to finish her words so smoothly. She was able to conclude an argument rationally, all by herself.

Why couldn't I do that in my previous life?

Because of that, she had always fought with Raphael.

We really fought badly back then.

Turning around, she felt a little sad. If she had handled it as well then as she did now, they would have hurt each other less. But it was rash to let her guard down with Raphael behind her. He was not a naive man who would release her so easily. The moment her hand touched the doorknob, all of her nerves suddenly stood up and screeched a warning of imminent danger. It was like the instinct of an herbivore when it sensed a predator approaching.

Annette turned her head in surprise. Or rather, she tried to turn. But her body was pinned between him and the door, and Raphael crushed her, immobilizing her. The feel of hot breath on her ears made her shudder.

"I told you, Annette. This is the first night of our honeymoon. You're not running away from me."

His deep, rasping voice sounded just like the low roar of a beast. And after speaking, his tongue licked her round earlobe. A spasm of panic went through her, and Annette tried to flee.

"Where are you going?"

The arms that imprisoned her from behind had no intention of letting her go. Annette was trapped between the door and his body, and before she knew what had happened, one hand caught the back of her thin chemise. His terrifying grip was so strong, the cloth tore in half and trailed loosely down her back.

"Ah......!"

Quickly, Annette grabbed for the front of her chemise, which was about to slip off. Somehow, she managed to keep from exposing her front, but she couldn't do anything about her naked back.

Raphael was dazzled by the white skin revealed on her back. Bowing his head, he bit like a beast tearing into a rabbit's neck, biting and sucking hard against the back of her neck. Annette gasped and almost stopped breathing. His rough breath stroked the elegant length of her nape and her body trembled. Goosebumps rose all over her skin.

Raphael's hand reached from behind and pressed her shoulders down so she couldn't move. Pinning her petite body against the door, he laid fervent kisses along her back. The sensation of his fingertips over her exposed shoulder blades was vivid.

"Shh...you're going to stay still, aren't you? Now that you're my wife, Annette."

Raphael bit her exposed earlobes gently, trying his best not to harm her. The soft, wet sounds and the feel of his tongue tracing the inside of her ear was too much for her. She squirmed, clinging to her chemise. She couldn't understand why he was doing this. He had always looked at her with such cold hate in her eyes, but then he would touch and kiss her so passionately, as if he truly desired her.
