Harry stepped back through the shimmering portal, returning to the front door of Jocelyn's apartment. The vibrant cityscape of New York greeted him, a stark contrast to the divine realm of Olympus.
Harry took a moment to center herself before re-entering the apartment. The familiar sounds of Jocelyn and Clary talking warmly greeted her as she stepped inside.
Clary's eyes lit up as she saw Harry. "You're back! How did it go with your mom?"
Harry smiled, feeling a sense of peace and acceptance. "It went well. She's given me her blessing to stay with you. And has asked that I stay until the beginning of August"
Jocelyn nodded, her eyes reflecting a mix of relief and happiness. "We're glad to have you here, Harry. Now, I need you and Clary to get dressed in your Sunday's best, okay"
Harry and Clary exchanged curious glances, both wondering what Jocelyn had in mind. Nevertheless, they nodded and headed to their respective rooms to change.
In Clary's room, Clary chose a vibrant, emerald, green dress that complemented her fiery red hair, adding a pair of matching sandals.
Harry walked in, "Clary do you have anything fancy to wear, I only have casual clothes"
Clary looked around her room, then smiled. "I have just the thing! I got a new dress for my birthday, and I think it will look great on you." She went to her closet and pulled out a stunning, deep blue dress with delicate silver embroidery around the neckline and hem. "Try this one on. It should fit you perfectly."
Harry took the dress, admiring its craftsmanship. "Thanks, Clary. It's beautiful," she said, looking at the dress. I don't think this dress is for me, though. Do you have something that matches my silver eyes and black hair?"
"Only my most fancy dress, I wore it for the daughter of mom's friend's first communion," said Clary looking through her closet. "Is that good?"
"Show me," said Harry
Clary pulled out a dress from the back of her closet, carefully draped in a protective cover. She unzipped the cover to reveal an elegant, flowing gown. The dress was a shimmering silver colour, with intricate lace detailing along the bodice and sleeves. The skirt flowed gracefully to the floor, with a subtle sheen that caught the light beautifully. It had a high neckline adorned with delicate beadwork that matched the silver lace, adding a touch of sophistication.
"This is my most fancy dress," Clary said, holding it up for Harry to see. "It's a perfect match for your silver eyes and black hair."
Harry's eyes widened in admiration as she took in the stunning dress. "It's gorgeous, Clary. Are you sure it's okay for me to wear it?"
Clary smiled warmly. "Of course, Harry. I want you to feel comfortable and look your best. Let's get you ready."
With Clary's help, Harry slipped into the dress. The fabric felt cool and smooth against her skin, and the dress fit perfectly, enhancing her features and giving her an air of elegance.
Clary nodded approvingly. "You look amazing, Harry. That dress suits you. Have you ever walked in heels before?"
Harry shook her head, looking down at her bare feet. "No, I haven't. But I'm willing to give it a try."
Clary smiled warmly. "Don't worry, I'll help you. Let's see if we can find a pair that matches your dress." She rummaged through her closet and pulled out a pair of silver three-inch heels. "These should work. They're not too high, so it'll be easier for you to walk in them."
Once they were both dressed, they met in the living room. Jocelyn and Luke were already waiting, dressed in their own smart attire. Jocelyn wore a flowing, midnight blue dress, while Luke was wearing a NYPD dress uniform.
