*This chapter contains mature scenes* Sorry was asked a question right as I was a bout to post.
The wedding was beautiful. Wei Wuxian spent most of that time in a haze, overcome by his husband's beauty in red robes. As the party comes to an end, he finds himself following Madam Yu toward his new home in Lotus Pier. He was certain the house she had commissioned for them was beautiful, but he was too nervous about his wedding night to really notice anything.
He had already been informed that doctors would be standing by to check if the curse was removed in the morning. Madam Yu had fought to get them at least a week but the Lan elders refused to budge. Wei Wuxian had a full-blown panic attack by the time they were left alone in the bedroom. He did not feel ready for what he was supposed to do. They had barely even kissed, for Dianxia's sake.
Lan Wangji roughly grabbed his shoulders, forcing Wei Wuxian to look at him. "Breath, Wei Ying." It takes a second for him to realize that he had stopped breathing and a few more minutes forcing himself to relax. He forced himself to focus only on Lan Wangji's soothing scent, so the boy's hesitant voice startled him. "I am going to lift the veil now."
Wei Wuxian shakily nodded to give his permission. Lan Wangji really wished this was happening under better circumstances and not because of a curse. He felt guilty at the satisfied rush he felt whenever he realized Wei Wuxian was his husband now. Gently, he lifted the veil with shaky hands. Lan Wangji couldn't help the gasp that left his lips when his eyes finally gazed at his husband.
Silver eyes were lined with kohl, making them stand out. The barest hint of rouge colored his lips. Wei Wuxian was looking anxiously at the frozen male in front of him. "Lan Zhan?" Lan Wangji snapped out of his stunned state and lightly caressed his husband's cheek. "Wei Ying, we don't have to do anything tonight if you don't want to. They can't make us." Wei Wuxian relaxed slightly at his words but shook his head negatively.
"I want to try Lan Zhan. I just... If you were not cursed, would you...would you still want me? Didn't you hate that I always break the rules of your clan? I- I am not ..." Lan Wangji leaned down, giving Wei Wuxian a quick kiss to stop his rambling. " Wei Ying I am not good with showing emotions. Wei Ying was confusing. I always wanted you since I saw your smile on top of the roof, trying to bribe me with wine. That attraction only grew as I saw how smart and honorable you were. I just didn't know how to get close to you when you seemed to be picking on me. I thought I had no chance since you would flirt with everyone but me, so I pushed you away."
Wei Wuxian looked at Lan Wangji stunned at the amount the boy had spoken to ease his fears. He felt ashamed now, looking back. A lot of the things he did could be called bullying, even though he never thought of them that way. He had just wanted to get Lan Wangji's attention in any way he could. "Lan Zhan, I always just wanted you to look at me. I have something to show you."
Under Lan Wangji's curious stare, Wei Wuxian undid the cloth part of his wrist guard. When he was done, he grabbed Lan Wnagji's hand and asked him to look. Dutifully, he looked in an attempt to see what his husband wanted him to notice. His breath caught "Wei Ying!" as he noticed his birth name wrapped around Wei Wuxian's finger.
