The beginning of a tale

Life in an enclosure of your own house is both a blessing and a curse. You can do whatever you want, but when you try to think of doing something, you just can't bring yourself to do anything. Having free time is always welcomed, but sometimes, this free time becomes just a thing you wouldn't know how to use.

Playing video games, watching movies, reading stories...all of it becomes a stagnant, time consuming part of your day that you will get tired of eventually. Grinding materials, relics, cash and experience books, is what I did for the last week or so, maybe even a month. With the release of new characters, I spent more and more time gathering what was needed to raise them from the base to become someone who can destroy anyone and anything...

Unfortunately, with the addition of new characters...the old ones will lose their value, most of the time, at least. General Feixiao is one such example. With her release, Blade, the one I adore so much, became even less of meta character he already was. His gimmick outdated itself, there's just no one to truly support him, no one to buff him based on his hp value, because that's the only thing that matters for him.

I loved Blade the moment he appeared, his story made the strings of my soul resonate each time I heard it, his love for Baiheng, his desperate question about why only abominations can rise time and time again, only for people like her to be buried, burned to ash, and eventually forgotten...I used him everywhere I went to, everytime I got the chance, and even when I got Feixiao, I kept using him together with her until the very end. Even so, his fall from grace was the most devastating part of my journey so far, aside from the story of the universe I dove into...

...quite literally, if I had to say.

I never expected to wake up somewhere so...familiar, yet entirely wrong. The ceiling above me wasn't my own, too metallic, too pristine. There was no poster on the wall beside my bed, nothing that grounded me to the life I knew. And then there was the girl, standing over me with amber eyes fixed on mine, her face both known and utterly alien at the same time.

"What the hell...?"

I sat up slowly, heart racing, my brain struggling to process the situation around me. This has to be a dream. Yet, my hands, pale, almost unnaturally white, were so vivid, so real. They trembled as I turned them over, feeling the subtle shift of air against my skin. My clothes, with white, gold, and green color scheme, reminding me of battle medic uniform...I hardly recognized them, but they did give me a gist of why I wore them now. But everything else? This couldn’t be happening.

And then I felt them. Two solid protrusions on my head...horns. Horns? Panic prickled down my spine. My hands shot to my head, gripping the horns, feeling the smooth, hard surface, real and tangible. It couldn’t be real...but the sensation was too precise, too alive to be anything but.

"This is...a dream..." — I thought, trying to process the information I just got. The world tilted as I looked up to see more faces...Himeko, March 7th, Welt Yang...Dan Heng. They were all here. Faces I’d spent hours staring at through a screen, but now, they were staring back at me. And I could feel their judgment, their caution, their palpable tension. It wasn’t just in my head.
