The monastery was quiet, the night still and calm. In Jay's room, the air was cool but comfortable, a space made warmer by the presence of two people who belonged together. Jay had one arm loosely around Nya, her head resting gently against his chest, their breathing in sync even as they slept.

Outside, dark clouds gathered, the wind whispering through the trees, carrying the first hints of a storm. The air thickened, charged with energy, like it was coming alive. It stirred something familiar in Jay, even in sleep. He felt it—the subtle hum of ionizing air, the tension before lightning struck. It was familiar, like the spark that flowed through his own veins.

A sharp crack of lightning split the sky, and Jay's powers stirred with it, a jolt pulling him from sleep. His eyes fluttered open as his senses sharpened, drawn to the energy outside, the electric charge that matched his own. He glanced down at Nya, calm and undisturbed, still sleeping peacefully against him.

Jay blinked in the dim light, the last crack of lightning fading. He shifted slightly, careful not to wake Nya, who was still asleep beside him, her breathing steady. For a moment, he just watched her, taking comfort in her presence, a quiet smile tugging at his lips.

He should be used to lightning by now—it was literally his thing. But every time it hit, it still made him jump. With a small chuckle, he reached out, stopping himself just before touching her hair. Instead, he gently took her hand, holding it lightly.

Jay held her hand for a moment, feeling the warmth of her skin, even as the storm outside rumbled louder, lightning flashing more frequently. The tension in the air didn't bother him anymore—not with Nya beside him. With a quiet sigh, his eyes grew heavy, and despite the storm's chaos, he drifted back to sleep, comforted by the only calm that mattered.

A few hours later, a sudden jolt of thunder shook the room, and Nya's eyes snapped open. The flash of lightning that followed lit up the tranquillity of Jay's facial features, and she blinked, adjusting to the storm outside.

She smiled at the sight of her usually energetic boyfriend, undisturbed. Her fingers brushed his cheek softly, not wanting to wake him. Watching him sleep, she felt a wave of affection. He was always there for her, always steady—even if his nerves sometimes got the best of him.

Another jolt of lightning lit the room, followed by a deep rumble of thunder that shook the walls. Yet, despite the storm's intensity, the sight of Jay sleeping peacefully beside her gave Nya a calm that the thunder couldn't break.

Every flash and crash outside was fierce, but here, watching him, she felt steady. It struck her that their love was its own kind of jolt—powerful, unwavering, and always bringing her back to what mattered most.

The storm could rage all it wanted. With Jay beside her, each jolt became just a reminder of how much she cared for him, a steady pulse against the chaos outside.
