The bass reverberates through the walls as Maria and I make our way through the party that Pedri and Pablo had invited us to.

It's their teammate's party, Ferran — I think.

The air is thick with chatter, music, and the occasional clink of glasses. We've barely stepped inside, and I'm already feeling a bit out of place.

These kinds of parties aren't exactly my scene, but Maria's excitement has rubbed off on me enough to tag along.

"This place is huge," Maria says, glancing around, wide-eyed. "Are you sure we're not at some exclusive club?"

I snort. "Feels like it."

"Look, there they are." Maria nudges me with her elbow, pointing toward the far side of the room. Pablo and Pedri are huddled with a group of people, laughing and talking animatedly.

As soon as we make eye contact with them, Pablo waves us over with a grin, and Pedri straightens up, his gaze locking onto me with a soft smile plastered on his lips. We make our way over, weaving through the crowd.

"You guys made it!" Pablo exclaims, pulling Maria into a quick side hug before giving me a nod. "I wasn't sure you'd come."

"Well, we wouldn't miss it," Maria says, her voice teasing. "Would we, Bella?"

"Definitely not," I say, trying to sound nonchalant, but my eyes can't help but flick to Pedri. He comes over and greets us with quick hugs before he pulls away.

Maria's already chatting away with Pablo, her laughter carrying over the noise, and I notice the way he looks at her, like she's the only person in the room.

It's subtle, but unmistakable, and I can't help but smile.

"Nice place, huh?" Pedri's voice pulls me from my thoughts. He leans in slightly so I can hear him better over the music.

Hot.

I nod, taking it all in. "Yeah, not bad. A little more upscale than the coffee shop, though." I joke.

He chuckles, his eyes scanning the room. "That's footballers for you. They like to go big."

"Clearly." I snort, looking around.

As we move deeper into the party, a couple of his teammates pass by and stop in their tracks when they see us.

"Oh, look who it is! The Bella," one of his friends says, dragging out the word as I raise a brow. His eyes flick between the two of us, and I smile slightly as I look towards Pedri.

Pedri sighs, though he's smiling. "Yeah, that's Bella. Bella, this is Ferran."

I nod, smiling as I pull out my hand to shake his, "nice party, Ferran."

Ferran smirks softly as he shakes my hand, "thanks, I try to live up to expectations."

Another guy laughs, nudging Pedri's shoulder as he looks at me. "We've all heard about you, Bella."

"Fermin." Pedri warns, rolling his eyes as he tries to hide his flustered face.

Cute.

I raise an eyebrow, feeling a bit of heat rise to my cheeks. "All good things, I hope?" I ask as I look between the three young men.

"Only the best," Fermin says with a wink. "Pedri here is usually the quiet type, but ever since he met you..."

"Enough," Pedri interrupts, laughing despite himself. "You guys are relentless." They both laugh, giving me a knowing look before heading off into the crowd.
