"I hope Guffy's boat didn't sink." I voiced out from behind John B who was steering the boat.
"Yeah, he doesn't have insurance." JJ replied, standing towards the nose of the boat.
"Jay, for God sake, please be careful." My eyes turned to JJ, watching him as he was getting closer and closer to the edge. "I really don't feel like dragging you out of water the today.""Well, I suppose you'll just have to catch me before I fall in then won't you, pretty girl." He said, shooting me a playful look and a wink. John B's head turned towards JJ, and as soon as they locked eyes, his face dropped and he went quiet.
The HMS Pogue was slowly drifting upon the water, passing us by the dock that was filled with boat's belonging to the other residents of the cut. The hurricane seemed to have hit them just as hard as it did the château.
"Hi Miss Amy! You guys get through it?" John B yelled, and waved over to the lady who was cleaning up the mess on the dock. JJ and I waved at her also.
"Still here!" She yelled back, waving at the three of us,
"Good to see you again, Maddy!""You too, Miss Amy!" I replied with a smile. She gave us one last kind smile before going back to help her neighbours.
"She totally looked at me." JJ said full of confidence with a smirk on his face.
"I saw it." John B said, boosting JJ's confidence just that little bit more.
"Oh, she totally did, JJ." I muttered out sarcastically as I rolled my eyes at him.
"Your not jealous are, you?" John B said teasingly.
JJ turned his head towards me with a grin on his face."No need to be jealous, Mads. You're still at the top of my list, and there's plenty of me to go around."
"Shut up, I hate the both of you." I scoffed, dismissing them, trying to hide the small blush that covered my cheeks.
"Dude, look at this place." John B said, looking around at the further damage from the hurricane as we carried on sailing away in the boat.
JJ whistles, "Agatha, what did you do?"
"She is a crazy lady." John B added.
"This is going to take forever to clear up." I sighed out, assessing the damage of the docks we passed.
"Yeah, that's my nightmare." John B replied with a sigh of his own.
John B continued steering along the water until we reached the dock of Heyward's Seafood shop. My eyes immediately lit up once I saw Pope, who had a hose in his hand, helping his dad clean up.
"We have a safety meeting. Attendance mandatory." John B cupped his hand over his shoulder, talking into it the same way a coast guard officer would, as we approached the dock, bringing the boat to a halt once we had.
