"Do you really think you can hide from me, Etienne?" he said, his tone more serious and colder now. "You're like a little doll-fragile, breakable, easy to play with."
He reached out, his inked fingers curling around the edge of the bed, his voice soft again. "Etienne, you see I'm a man of my word," he continued, his voice growing darker. "If I have to break you, I will. And trust me, doll, breaking you would be the highlight of my fucking night."
He bent down beside the bed, his inked fingers curled tighter on the floor, his knuckles brushing against the floor. "You can't hide forever. So, what's it going to be? Crawl out like a good little doll... or do I have to reach in and drag you out by that pretty blond hair of yours, hmm?"
He stood up slowly, his shadow looming even larger as he straightened to his full height, his voice now a low growl. "Last chance, Etienne. Come out, or I'll make sure you never forget what happens when you defy me."
"Don't make me count to three."
Etienne's wide eyes stared into man's shoes under the bed, every muscle in his body tense with fear. He wanted to disappear, to melt into the floor and escape this nightmare, but there was nowhere to go. The footsteps stopped just beside him, and the beast's voice dropped even lower, just above a whisper.
"Etienne, if you don't come out by the count of three, you'll have to pay for the consequences," he said.
Etienne trembled harder, pressing himself against the cold floor, his eyes squeezed shut as if that could make it all go away.
"One..."
"Two..."
Etienne squeezed his eyes shut even tighter, his whole body stiffening. Please... let this be a nightmare, he thought.
"Three..."
Suddenly, everything went quiet. No footsteps. No voice. Just silence.
Etienne's breath hitched, his pulse pounding louder. What's happening? he thought, his mind swirling with confusion. For a brief moment, he almost believed that maybe-just maybe-they had left him alone. That the nightmare had somehow passed.
But then, without warning, a harsh, icy hand gripped his ankle roughly.
Etienne gasped, his body stiffening in shock as he was pulled out from under the bed. His world spun, the room blurring as he was dragged across the cold wooden floor. His fingers scrambled for something-anything-to hold onto, but there was no escape. The grip around his ankle was strong, like iron clamped around his sensitive skin.
"Found you," he whispered.
Etienne's wide, tear-filled eyes locked onto the man's towering figure on top of him. The cruel smile on his lips sent a wave of fear through him, his fragile body trembling as he struggled helplessly against the man's grip. His heart raced, pounding wildly in his chest, his breath coming in short.
He kicked, squirming in desperation, but the man's grip only tightened, his inked hand bruising his skin.
"Thought you could hide from me?" He chuckled. "You think I wouldn't find you, little rabbit? How fucking cute."Etienne sobbed, his chest heaving as the man pulled him up, forcing him to his feet. His small frame shook, tears streaming down his pale cheeks as he clutched the stuffed bunny to his chest, the only shred of comfort he had left.
The man leaned in close, his breath hot against Etienne's ear. "Now you're going to learn what happens when you disobey me, doll."
Etienne whimpered, his entire body trembling in fear. He could feel the man's icy blue eyes burning into him. There was no escape. No one to save him. He was utterly at the mercy of the beast.
