Scorpion (Scorpiones)

➤ Scorpions are a kind of nuisance pest that are related closely to spiders, ticks, and mites. They can come in various shades of brown, and black in variable patterns. They use a stinger to inject venom into predators, and depending on species, the venom can be fatal. There are about 1,200 species of scorpion in the world, 70 of them being in the U.S. They prefer a temperate, semi-arid region to live. Scorpions are burrowing animals, especially during bouts of heat, when they'll crawl into their moist underground den to avoid drying up.

➤ Scorpions are sometimes kept as pets, however they require a very moist and rainforest-like climate in their enclosure. According to The Spruce Pets, recommended scorpion breeds are the following;

- Emperor Scorpion

- Malaysia Black Scorpion

- Javanese Jungle Scorpion

- Desert Hairy Scorpion

- Large-Clawed Scorpion

- Dictator Scorpion

- Asian Forest Scorpion

Keep in mind Scorpions will need their enclosure sprayed with moisture every day, and sources recommend placing a heating pad under the enclosure the ensure the Scorpions' happiness.
