I woke up to the sound of a knock on the front door. I blinked for a second trying to clear the sleep from my eyes before groggily moving to stand. The couch grunted at me when I pushed myself up. The foreign sound startled me the rest of the way awake.

"Finn? Are you okay?" He cracked open one eye looking up at me from his contorted position on the couch. One leg was on the floor the other was bent with his knee against the back of the couch and his neck was bent at an awkward angle against the arm rest.

"I am fine Unnasta, come back to sleep." He lazily lifted his arms for me to burrow back against his chest. A second round of harsh knocks caused him to frown before rolling his eyes. "Go away Niklaus." His voice kept the same quiet volume.

My face twisted in confusion. "Niklaus?"

Just when I began to suspect Finn of hallucinating I heard a distinctly British accent yelling through the door to 'hurry up before we all die horrible deaths'. I snatched the bright pink throw blanket from where it had fallen on the floor and wrapped it around myself before moving to answer the door.

Niklaus stood in all his blonde glory on my doorstep looking an awful lot like an angry golden doodle. "It's rude to be left waiting Mindosia. Though from the smell I gather you have been busy." His smug little grin was the stuff of nightmares for all older sisters everywhere. Kieran used to make that same face when he caught me doing something I shouldn't.

Well two can play at this game buddy. I refuse to be embarrassed about literally the best dry humping session in history.

My hands were immediately on my hips, as I stared him down. "It's rude to sniff around other people's business not to mention it's weird. So panty sniffer, what could you possibly want at five o'clock in the morning?"

I mentally gave myself a pat on the back at the shocked look on his face.

"Yes brother what could you possibly want at this hour?" Finn stood at my back now towering over me to glare down at his brother.

Niklaus regained control over his face going for a petulant expression. "Well there is much work to be done brother. You see someone destroyed our dining room and revealed a plot to kill us all. A plot you were a part of until yesterday I might add." His glare towards Finn was harsh enough to make me flinch away from the threshold.

I could feel Finn's deep breath as his chest brushed the back of my shoulders. "There is still time to complete it Niklaus." The deadpan tone of his voice was honestly funny but I held in my giggle when Niklaus's glare intensified.

"The two of you will be staying at home today. I need someone to watch over Kol and Rebekah while Elijah and I figure out how to stop our Mother from killing us all." His blue eyes softened from the glare into a satisfied look. Clearly he enjoyed the waves of annoyance radiating from Finn.

I spoke before Finn could. "And why am I getting roped into this? I do have a business to run you know?"

Niklaus sighed exasperatedly. "A business in which you spend all of your time with emotional teenage girls I'm sure you can contain our younger siblings for a few hours. Rebekah at least is easy enough to distract. As for you brother, I see you are enjoying your time undaggered. It would be quite sad for you to return to your box—"

I was gently pushed to the side as Finn's massive boot shot out to kick his brother in the chest. Niklaus flew clear off the porch and across the street. His body smashed into the car that was parked in front of my neighbor's house. My hands covered my mouth on instinct to prevent myself from screaming. The sounds of groaning metal echoed through the quiet neighborhood as Niklaus peeled his body out of the large dent. In a blink he was back in my porch.
