Your kid has a nightmare
Bucky Barnes:
It was around 2 a.m. when you heard the faint sound of crying from down the hall, and without a word, Bucky rolled out of bed. "I've got this, doll," he whispered before padding barefoot towards your son's room. You followed behind, knowing Bucky wouldn't mind the extra support. When you both reached the doorway, you found little Tommy sitting upright in bed, tears streaming down his cheeks. "Daddy," he whimpered as Bucky crossed the room and sat beside him. "I had a bad dream." Bucky's heart softened instantly, his face breaking into a tender smile as he ran his vibranium hand through Tommy's tousled hair. "Hey, buddy, it's okay. I'm right here, and Mama's here too. You wanna tell me about it?" Tommy shook his head, wiping at his eyes with his sleeve. "There was a monster, and it—it took you away." Bucky's expression grew even softer as he scooped his son into his arms, letting Tommy bury his face against his chest. "No monster's ever gonna take me away, I promise," Bucky reassured in a firm yet gentle tone, his voice steady as he rocked Tommy gently. "I've fought bigger monsters than that, and I'm still here, aren't I?" You sat down next to them, rubbing small circles on Tommy's back. "We're both here, honey, and we're not going anywhere." Tommy sniffled, his breathing beginning to slow. "Do you want us to stay with you until you fall asleep?" you asked. Tommy nodded, still clinging to Bucky. "Alright, we'll stay," Bucky murmured. He looked over at you with a soft smile, then back at Tommy. "You're safe, little man. We'll fight all your monsters together."Loki Laufeyson
A startled cry from the nursery jolted both you and Loki awake in the middle of the night. Without hesitation, Loki sat up, his hand already reaching for yours as he whispered, "It's Elara." You both rushed to your daughter's room, where you found her curled up in a corner of her bed, trembling with fear. "Papa!" she sobbed, reaching out as soon as she saw Loki. His heart ached as he picked her up, cradling her against his chest. "Shh, little one," Loki murmured soothingly, his voice like velvet as he kissed her forehead. "What troubles you so?" Elara sniffled, clinging to his shirt. "There was a bad man... he tried to take me away," she whimpered. Loki's eyes darkened with a flicker of protective anger, but he quickly softened his expression for his daughter's sake. "No one will ever take you from us," he promised, his tone firm and reassuring. "I would summon all the magic in the universe to keep you safe." You stepped closer, stroking Elara's hair as you whispered, "We're right here, sweetheart. It was just a dream." Loki sat down in the rocking chair, holding Elara close as he rocked her back and forth. "Do you remember the stories I tell you before bed, my love? The ones where I outsmart all the bad men?" Elara nodded, her tiny fist clutching the fabric of Loki's shirt. "Well, I'll tell you another one, and this time, I'll make sure all the bad men disappear for good." As Loki wove a new tale, his voice soft and enchanting, you smiled, knowing your daughter felt safe in his arms. By the time he finished, Elara's breathing had evened out, and she was fast asleep. "She's safe now," Loki whispered, his gaze meeting yours as he continued to hold her protectively.Tony Stark:
You were just drifting off to sleep when you heard a small voice from the doorway. "Mommy, Daddy?" It was Rosie, your five-year-old, standing there clutching her Iron Man plushie, tears in her eyes. Tony groaned softly but immediately sat up, rubbing his eyes. "Come here, sweet pea," he called softly, motioning for her to come to the bed. She scurried over, climbing up between you and Tony. "I had a scary dream," she whispered, snuggling into your side. Tony wrapped an arm around her, his heart clenching at the sight of his daughter so upset. "What happened, Rosie?" you asked gently, stroking her hair. "I dreamed that Daddy flew away, and he didn't come back," she murmured, her voice small and shaky. Tony's breath hitched, and he shared a glance with you before turning his full attention to Rosie. "Hey, hey, that's not gonna happen," Tony said softly, pulling her into his arms. "Daddy always comes back. Always." Rosie looked up at him with wide eyes, still scared but trusting his words. "But what if something bad happens?" she asked, her lip quivering. Tony kissed the top of her head. "Nothing bad is going to happen, I promise. Daddy's got the best technology in the world, and I'll always make sure I come home to you and Mommy, okay?" Rosie nodded slowly, her tiny arms wrapping around Tony's neck. You leaned in, kissing her forehead. "You're safe, baby. We both are." Tony gave you a grateful smile before whispering to Rosie, "How about we build something together tomorrow, just you and me? Something that'll keep all those bad dreams away." Rosie's eyes lit up a little at the suggestion, and she nodded. "Okay, Daddy." You both stayed there for a while, comforting her until she drifted back to sleep between the two of you, Tony holding her close.
