Chapter 9

Dawn's POV
I woke up thinking about the night before. What the hell has possessed my family. My mother. Why can't we be normal? Tears pricked my eyes and I cuddled back into my sleeping boyfriend.

I looked up at him and just stared. He is so gorgeous. How did I get so lucky? This human is all I ever need, well besides our baby.

"Like what you see?" I got out of my Tyler trance when he spoke.

*laugh* "Nope. " I said popping the 'p'. "Your nasty dragon breath killed the sexiness for me." I continued while walking into the restroom and closing the door. Well not before I got a glance of his flabbergasted face.

"I AM DAMN SEXY THANK YOU!" He shouted from outside the door. I shook my head and giggled softly.

As I opened the door, I was expecting to see Tyler standing there, but to my surprise, he was gone.

Hmmm... I wonder where he went. I know he loves to prank people but he wouldn't--

My thoughts were stopped when I stepped out of our closet after getting dressed and suddenly got sprayed in the face by ice cold water.

"That was for not agreeing with my sexiness!" He shouted as he sprinted past me into the restroom.

" Tyler! I'm going to kill you, my evil penguin!" I yelled and cackled as I reached into my purse to pull out his bathroom key I kept for occasions like this.

*click* I unlocked the door quietly.

Since I am actually a ninja, and the toilet area is separated from the rest of the restroom, Tyler never heard me enter.

Picking up the spray bottle he left on the counter, I stood where the door would cover me up when he opened it.

*Flush* An evil grin stretches from ear to ear on my face as the door starts to open. Oh, you poor oblivious boy.

Tyler's back is towards me, so I sneak up behind him and spray water directly into his ear. Ooo. That's gotta hurt.

The highest pitched little girl scream cuts through the air, and I start cackling.

"What the hell was that for Dawn?!" Tyler cries out.

*shrugs* "You got me wet." I say simply while he gapes at me. "And close your mouth, you'll get flies." I walk away.

"GOOD MORNING MY BEAUTIFUL SUNSHINE!" Tyler's mom shouts at me as I make my descent down the stairwell.

I walk up to her and get enveloped into a giant bear hug. I feel warm, safe, and loved in her arms. This is the family that I have always wanted. I smile and pull back. "Hi mom."

I sat down at the bar and listened to her rattle away about work and travel and such.
She noticed that I wasn't very into it and asked what was wrong.
"I'm not sure honestly. I just had a really rough night last night. I didn't know how much my family actually hated me."

She sighed. "Oh my sweet girl, they don't hate you. You are the most wonderful thing. They just love themselves too much to truly appreciate you. I'm glad that you and Tyler became friends, and that you are going to be the mother of my grandchildren and my daughter-in-law one of these days. I love you so much." Carolyn came and stood next to me and wiped away the tears that had developed in my eyes during her little speech and gave me another tight hug. Then she pulled away and smiled.
"Now, what would you like for breakfast? We've gotta keep you and that baby fed! I was thinking something like egg whites with fresh spinach and tomatoes?"
I nodded in agreement and smiled.
"Yes please! And I love you too mom. Thank you for everything you have done for me."
She squeezed my hand and then got busy on making breakfast.

Yeah, so I apologize for the short, sucky chapter and the long wait. I've had writers block and school. Also, I'm thinking about starting a supernatural book. Tell me what you think please!
