Beyond the grave

On my last day on earth’s surface bright,
You’ll escort me to eternal night,
My final resting place, where peace awaits,
A solitude that separates.

When farewell whispers fade away,
And your footsteps dissolve into day,
I’ll remain, alone and still,
A stranger among silent hills.

In this new home, devoid of love,
Longing for the warmth you brought above,
My heart, once full, now emptiness holds,
Yearning for your tender, guiding folds.

Your absence weighs, a heavy stone,
Leaving me with unknown souls alone.
No familiar smile, no gentle hand,
Only echoes of a distant land.
