There's something about the way Sakshi looks at me. Her eyes—they say things her lips can't. I catch her staring, and I can't help but tease her. She knows I know, but she pretends she doesn't. It's our little unspoken game."Ankhein sab kehti hain jo zuban nahi bol paati," I said softly, almost to myself. But she heard it.
"A...achcha?" she stammered, her voice catching slightly.
I nodded. Haan, maybe she understood. Maybe she knew that no matter how hard I tried, I could never miss the love hiding behind her shy glances.
Sakshi shifted, her eyes wide, as if she was wondering if I had figured it all out.
"Ab rest karo," I said, my voice gentle but firm. "Aur haan, kal se office ka kaam bhi nahi karogi. Ghar ke kaam David dekhega."
She looked at me with confusion, "Kyun?"
"Kyunki main bol raha hoon," I replied, trying to sound authoritative.
"Par phir mai bore ho jaungi," she whined, clearly not liking the idea.
I chuckled. "Thik hai, choose one thing. Dono kaam nahi karne dunga."
She paused, thinking, then smirked mischievously. "Aap," she whispered.
I blinked, caught off guard. "K...kya?"
"Haan, I'll take care of you," she said, her tone firm, leaving no room for argument.
"Nahi, woh bilkul nahi karogi," I protested quickly.
"Kyun?" she asked, a teasing smile playing on her lips.
"Uske liye David aur Natasha hai," I explained, trying to avoid her gaze. "Aur ek kisi ko appoint kar lunga if needed."
She wasn't buying it. "Phir main kya karungi?"
"Office ka kaam karo," I suggested, hoping she'd drop the idea of taking care of me.
She shook her head, determined. "Nahi, mujhe aapki care karni hai. Aapke paas rehna hai."
I sighed. "Main tumhe khud se door nahi kar raha hoon. I'm just telling you to rest."
"Aap mujhe khud se door kar bhi nahi sakte," she countered, her eyes challenging mine. "You are not allowed. Sapne mein bhi aapko ye khayal nahi aana chahiye warna aapke liye accha nahi hoga."
I grinned despite myself. "Mujhe aisa koi khayal nahi aayega. Sapne mein bhi nahi." Then, with a teasing tone, I added, "Please mujhe aise mat dekho. Mujhe tumhari in gusse se bhari aankhon se darr lagta hai."
She narrowed her eyes. "Stop lying. Mujhe pata hai aap jhoot bol rahe hain."
"I swear!" I raised my hands defensively. "Jab bhi tum pyaar se dekhti ho, bahut khubsurat lagti ho. Aur jab gussa hoti ho, to keher dhaati ho. Kisi ki jaan chali jaaye agar tum gusse mein ho aur uski nazar tumhari aankhon pe pad jaye."
