Leo, in all his glory, never truly believed in love.
Maybe it was because he had seen how love damaged people. Maybe it was because too many people, who were supposed to love him, walked out of his life.
Leo only ever saw love as real from one person, his mother. His mother loved him more than anything, and he loved her the same. But in that burning love, came a burning end.
Leo never believed love to be a good thing after that.
So when a name appeared on his wrist when he turned thirteen, he frowned and decided he would never search for the person.
The fates seemed to scoff at him, because he never searched, but the person still showed up.
Literally showed up. He popped into existence out of nowhere.
Yes, it just so happens that the really pretty blonde boy who woke up holding Leo's best friend's hand had the same name as the one on Leo's wrist.
Jason.
Fucking Jason.
It was almost funny to Leo how he got a very common name stuck on his wrist.
So there he was, joking with this blonde boy who he couldn't really remember the name of. It wasn't until Piper repeated his name that it struck.
"Jason."
Leo refused to believe it. There was thousands of other Jason's in the world. This one, he couldn't be the one.
But doubt weighed down on Leo.
It was heavy, something that he never really expected to carry.
And all that running away he had done before, that couldn't save him this time.
So he kept quiet. He kept that wrist down, out of sight. He didn't want to be afraid that this Jason was the Jason, but he was always going to be bowing to the guilt when it came. And it came often.
He nodded his time and soon found himself thinking less and less about the name inked on his skin. It was a small thought that resonated in the back of his mind, but small enough to forget about for a while.
The Argo II made for great scenes.
Leo, Piper, and Jason would always find themselves in their silly fights, bickering like siblings because there really was nothing else to do.
It was either that or act as if the impending omen of death hadn't circled around them like vultures.
Piper slapped him playfully on the shoulder, and Leo caught a glimpse of her other wrist. Shelina. Leo teased Piper often about the "old lady" name her soulmate had.
