In a war-ravaged medieval world, a mighty Empire has risen from the devastation left by centuries of conflict. Long ago, the half-human, half-orc warlord Zandro led the orc race in a brutal conquest to dominate the world, slaughtering elves, humans and dwarves alike. All seemed lost for the surviving races until a power new ally emerged; the Dragons. Descending from their mountain homes, the Dragons joined forces with the elves, humans and dwarves to turn the tide of the war. Together, they defeated the orc army, driving them into hiding, but not without great sacrifice.
With their numbers dwindling, the Dragons made a bold decision to ensure their legacy would live on. They gifted the noble families of the elves and humans with the ability to transform into Dragons, imbuing them with the power to protect the world in their stead. The dwarves, though honored, politely declined the gift.
Centuries passed, and from the ashes of war, the Empire of Liora emerged as a dominant force, divided into four distinct regions. The North, home to the fortified city of Stormwatch, where soldiers of the Empire are trained; the South, with its fertile farmlands and the main village of Elderglen providing the Empire with crops; The East, a coastal region with the busting port city of Riversend, known for fishing and trade; and the West, where the radiant capital city of Lumina stands as a beacon of hope, ruled by the Imperial Family.
To strengthen her Empire, Empress Arithiel arranges a political marriage between her son, Crown Prince Tarron, and the Crown Princess Solana of the neighboring kingdom of Valoria. Prince Tarron sets off to solidify the alliance but finds himself drawn to a mysterious maid named Sirena, a silver-haired, golden eyed she-elf who seems to be his fated mate. To his shock, Sirena is revealed to be a Dragon Shifter, the hidden and thrown aside daughter of King Rothban and a commoner. Abused and treated as a servant, Sirena has been kept in the ignorance of her true identity along with the entirety of the Kingdom.
Outraged by the treatment of his mate, Prince Tarron calls off the alliance and spirits Sirena away to Liora, where she is embraced by the Imperial Family. Under the watchful eyes of Empress Arithiel and Tarron's fierce sister, Princess Renna, Sirena must learn to navigate the treacherous life of a royal and embrace her powers as a Dragon Shifter, a key defender of the Empire.
Meanwhile, in the Kingdom of Valoria, King Rothban, his daughter Solana, and his wife Magara plot their revenge. They form an alliance with dark forces, setting in motion the return of Zandro, the ancient enemy who had once sought to conquer the world.
With war looming the return of an unstoppable foe, Sirena must embrace her destiny, master her Dragon's powers, and fight for the survival of the Empire. The fate of Liora, and perhaps the world, hangs in the balance as the legacy of the Dragons—and the darkness they fought to defeat—rises once more.
