"Excuse me! You're Serene, right?" A guy approached me, trying to overcome the loud bar music with his voice. "From Comm Arts?"
"Yes! Why?" I asked while swaying to the music, casually leaning a bit towards him to hear his voice. I was also holding out a drink in my right hand.
"My friend over there thinks you're cute. Any chance we can have our hands on your number?"
I was about to speak another word when my eyes wandered around the staircase that leads to the 2nd level of the bar. My smile disappeared, and I immediately stopped dancing. Our eyes locked for a moment, his cold gaze instantly making me freeze from the inside.
What the hell? Why is he here? I thought he was busy studying!
The party lights kept hitting his face, which only made his handsome face dazzle under the dim lights of the bar. He was wearing a plain white shirt and black sweatpants. Such a party pooper! He doesn't look like he belongs to this side of college life!
His face remained stoic, his eyes never leaving my face even for a split second. I gulped before finishing the entire drink in my hand. The effect this man has on me is so fucking ridiculous. Goodness, Serene! Snap out of it!
"Sorry, I'm already taken," I smiled apologetically when I turned around to meet the guy's face. He looked like he was disappointed, but he silently nodded and left.
When I looked back at the staircase, his back was already facing me, and it looked like he was conversing with a guy, a friend I think. I caught sight of the guy's face for a second. Right, he was friends with Minu from Business Management! Minu is pretty much a hotshot around the students since he often throws the biggest parties, well since he was technically a walking atm machine, that rich son of a businessman!
I shook my head, now being a bit clear headed than before, the party spirit in me disappearing into thin smoke. I should go home, I've already lost my mood!
I went to the girl's comfort room first, trying to fix myself in front of the mirror. I was wearing a simple, silver, spaghetti-strapped mini satin dress. My hair was collected at the right side of my shoulder. I reapplied my colored lip gloss, realization slowly dawning upon me.
"Ugh, why did I turn down that guy?!" I frustratingly said, hitting my head. I wasn't even taken, it was just a dumb excuse!
"It's all his fault!" I grumbled like a teenager, muttering more complaints as I messed with my hair out of frustration.
___________
DNI: Good morning.
DNI: Don't forget to eat your breakfast.
I rubbed my eyes, forcing myself to wake up. I checked my phone when it buzzed under my pillow. I read the two messages from my unnamed contact, my brows furrowed.
I scoffed when I read his messages before opening my notes, checking a schedule table. The heck? His class doesn't start before 9AM. Why is he messaging me as early as 5 in the morning?
