The room was still, the remnants of their emotional conversation hanging in the air. Yeonjun's heart was heavy with everything Soobin had just revealed. He lay next to Soobin in bed, the warmth of his friend's body offering comfort amidst the sadness they both carried.

After a few moments of silence, Yeonjun broke the stillness, his voice soft but thoughtful. "I can't believe how much you've been through, Soobin. You're stronger than you know."

Soobin, lying beside him, didn't say anything at first, his mind swirling with thoughts of his grandparents and the weight of his memories. He let out a small sigh, his hand gripping the edge of the blanket. "I don't feel strong. I just... I didn't know how to move forward."

"You don't have to do it alone anymore," Yeonjun whispered, scooting closer until their shoulders touched. "I'll be with you every step of the way. Always."

Soobin glanced at him, a flicker of gratitude in his tired eyes. He didn't say anything, but the weight in his chest lightened just a little as they sat in the quiet of the night.

Without a word, Yeonjun shifted and wrapped his arm around Soobin, pulling him into a gentle hug. It wasn't the first time they'd hugged that night, but this one felt different. It felt like a promise.

As they settled back into the bed, Yeonjun leaned his head against Soobin's shoulder, feeling the slow rhythm of his breathing. The exhaustion of the day began to pull at his eyelids, but he wasn't ready to fall asleep just yet.

"Soobin," he murmured, voice barely above a whisper. "Can we just... stay like this for a little longer?"

"Yeah," Soobin replied softly, the tension easing from his body. "We can."

They lay there in the comforting silence, their hearts connected through the shared warmth of their embrace. Yeonjun couldn't remember the last time he had felt so safe—so protected. And as the quiet moments passed, he could feel himself finally starting to relax.

Soobin, too, found a sense of peace he hadn't felt in a long time. The darkness that had weighed on him for so long seemed to fade, replaced by the steady beat of Yeonjun's presence. There was something so soothing about lying next to him, something that made all the pain feel a little less sharp.

Time passed, and soon, Yeonjun's eyelids grew heavy. He nestled closer into Soobin's side, his voice a sleepy mumble. "I'm really glad you're here."

"Me too," Soobin whispered back, brushing a gentle hand over Yeonjun's hair as his eyes fluttered shut.

Slowly, Yeonjun drifted off, feeling completely safe in Soobin's arms, and for the first time in what felt like forever, Soobin wasn't haunted by the past. Instead, he found peace in the present moment—just him and Yeonjun, together.

The soft glow of dawn started to creep through the curtains when Soobin stirred from his light sleep. He blinked against the morning light, glancing down at Yeonjun, who was still fast asleep beside him. A small smile tugged at the corner of his lips at how peaceful Yeonjun looked.

For a moment, he stayed still, simply watching Yeonjun sleep, savoring the rare tranquility that had settled over them. But then, the sound of the alarm broke through the quiet, pulling them both back to reality.

Soobin reached over and gently shook Yeonjun's shoulder. "Hey... we need to get up. We'll be late for school."

Yeonjun groaned softly, burrowing deeper into Soobin's shoulder. "Five more minutes," he mumbled, voice thick with sleep.

Soobin chuckled under his breath. "We really have to get up."

With a reluctant sigh, Yeonjun opened his eyes, blinking against the bright light. A blush crept onto his cheeks as he realized how long they had stayed wrapped up together. "I guess we really overslept, huh?"

"Yeah," Soobin replied, smiling softly. "But it was nice, wasn't it?"

Yeonjun's blush deepened as he nodded. "Yeah. It was."

As they both got out of bed and began getting ready for school, the warmth of that shared moment lingered between them, wrapping around their hearts like a protective shield. Though the day ahead promised its usual challenges, they both knew that something between them had changed—that their bond had grown stronger.

Once Soobin returned to his flat, he was overwhelmed by a rush of excitement. The moment he stepped inside, a scream of pure happiness escaped his lips. He could hardly believe the shift in his heart. Things were undeniably changing between them, and in just two days since their reunion, he had fallen head over heels for Yeonjun.

He couldn't help but think about how much he would do for him—how every moment spent together felt like a step toward something beautiful. Soobin's cheeks flushed as he recalled the warmth of Yeonjun's embrace, the way they fit together so perfectly.

Meanwhile, back at Yeonjun's flat, he stood by the door, his heart racing. As soon as Soobin left, he couldn't help but smile and blush like crazy, feeling a rush of emotions, he had never experienced before. "YESSSSSS!" he screamed, filled with glee.

Yeonjun relished this new feeling, this thrilling excitement coursing through him. He wanted to be with Soobin, to explore what this connection meant. With a heart full of hope, he eagerly anticipated their next encounter, already dreaming of the moments they would share.
