-What the fuck??? What was that feeling???
Harlequin was confuse, what had just happened right now? Why would his best friend tell him something like that ?

He could feel his cheeks heating up the more he thought about what had happened. He tried to stop thinking about it but it wouldn't stop playing in his mind. No matter how many time he tried to shake it off it just wouldn't stop coming back.

He sat down on the floor as he was trying to control his breath. Trying to stop the blush that was trying to escape.

-Stop it damn it !
He hold his head in his hands as he tried to hide his face.

But then something hit him.

-Shit ! I'm gonna be late !

"And now, what took you so long ?" Gerheade asked angrily, Harlequin was standing in front of her, terrified that she would punish him.

"I'm sorry Gerheade it won't happen again I promise !" His voice broke a little, trying not to sob as he was still scared of what could happen to him. What if she make him skip meals again ? Or work 2x more ?

Gerheade looked at him, she looked suspicious of him, as if she knew something had happen before he arrived there. He could tell just by the look on her face. He started sweating slighty. Not wanting Gerheade to know about what happened with Helbram a while ago.

"That's okay, just tell me why you're late." Harlequin started to panic but didn't show it. He kept a straight face, trying to come up with something else. But honestly, if he say the truth, would something bad really happen ? She may be a little angry but she wouldn't punish him !

"Well...I was just talking with Helbram that's all." Adding the details wasn't importantw right ? She doesn't need to know what they were talking about anyway.

"About?"

"The fact we couldn't hang out together anymore." He said. He knew that if she catch the fact that he was lying she would be very mad, but he didn't wanted her to tell him to stop seeing him. "So I just explained to him why we couldn't. I didn't though it would take longer then expected, my apologies Gerheade."

"You're forgiven, now go do your afternoon patrole. Instead of standing here wasting your time doing nothing." She glared, Harlequin bowed down to apologies once more before leaving.

She was still suspicious of him, she knew something was wrong. And she was going to make sure to know the truth. No matter what.

"Brother ! You're here !" Harleqin heard Elaine called him by behind, he sighed as he looked behind him to see his little sister rushing in his arms to hug him.

"How was your day ?" Harlequin asked, he didn't really had the time to talk but he didn't wanted to hurt his sister's feelings once more by pushing her away for tye second time this day.

"It was good, how about you?" She asked, happy that her brother finally decided to talk to her.

He thought about it for a moment, should he ? Well, he has nothing to lose anyway does he ?

"Just, a weird talk with Helbram." Elaine knew, she knew that Helbram had talked to him and that's what she wanted to hear, she wanted to hear how the conversation went. Since Helbram seemed busy with some other fairies and she didn't wanted to bother him.

"Really ? What happened ?" She asked, trying to know if it worked or no.

"I don't know how to explain it.." Harlequin looked at the ground a moment before looking back at her. "He was trying to tell me that Gerheade was a bad person, which I know is fale but then when he took my hand I just..."

He paused, not knowing if he should continue or not.

"You just what ?" Elaine asked, she could tell it didn't work by the way her brother said it but there was something that felt weird. Her brother was feeling weird and she wanted to know everything that was going on in his head.

"Well, uh...I had this strange feeling, it felt like my heart was beating a little faster then usual...my cheek were bright red and I couldn't calm it !" He explained, his cheeks becoming slightly pink as he remembered what had happen.

Did Elaine heard thta right ? Was her brother...possibly falling in love with his best friend ? That could go well ! If he is actually in love with him, maybe he would start listen to him !

"I just, wanna understand those feelings..." He mumbled to his sister. "Could you help me with that ?" Elaine nodded eagerly. Finally being able to help her brother for something.

She began to explain to him what he may be feeling. And that it was called "loved". When he asked her how she knew she explain that Helbram had gone to see the human village and brought back some books with him for them to read.

Harlequin was getting curious, he also wanted to read them and know more. But not for the same reasons as his sister. Not at all.

"So that's what you were hiding uh?" She mumbled to herself. "If it's in fact a crush that could go really wrong.."

"I'm sorry for it my dear, but I won't let that happen."

"What do you mean he got kidnapped !?" Harlequin yelled out to the fairy in front of him. They covered their ears, not wanting them to hurt from the yelling.

"I saw it ! He got taken away by them !" Harlequin whole world shattered in pieces. His best friend, his possible crush, was kidnapped by the species he hated the most ? How could he have let that happened !?

"Oh disappointing." He heard a voice from behind. He recognized the voice. He could recognize that voice from millions of miles. "How could you let that happen ? Do you really love him ?" He was starting to feel even more guilty.

"It's..my fault ?"

"Who's fault could it be ? You knew they were dangerous, yet you still let him approached them. That is your fault." He looked at her, tears starting to pour from his eyes.

The other fairy wanted to say something but didn't try. They knew that it would just be useless, Gerheade would make them understand that the best they should do is to shut up.

"I..I need to go save him !"

"Don't, it's already too late now." Gerheade tried to convince him, but he didn't wanted to listen to her. For the first time in all those years he didn't listen to her and left. Asking her to say goodbye to his sister for him.

Gerheade smiled to herself, her plan was working, and it was just the beggining.
