Sarah's eyes fluttered open slowly waking up to the soft sound of the trees swaying in the breeze that blew through their bedroom window. She snuggled into John B's embrace as the cool air reached her sun kissed skin, a slight chill in the early summer. Reaching her arm up out of the sheets she rubbed her still tired eyes and placed it on his bare chest, looking up to see her husband's chiselled face as he slept. Smiling to herself she reached her hand up and stroked his cheek softly with her thumb, his reflexes making him half smile at her touch. Sarah let out a giggle as she settled back into his hold and thought about how perfect their day was going to be. So much has happened since they found the gold. Since Vlad and Val completed their mission. Today was the day Kildare County was honouring the pogues for all their outstanding efforts in solving a 400 year old treasure hunt. Flashes of everything they'd been though came flooding through her mind as she felt the butterflies fluttering around in her stomach.

As if by magic, John B held her closer. He always knew how she was feeling. He planted a small kiss on her head and Sarah looked up at him as he opened his tired eyes. "Hi." Sarah almost whispered, with a big sleepy smile on her face. "Hi." John B mirrored, his face moving closer to his wife's as his nose bumped hers. "You'll be okay today, I've got you." He whispered, getting closer to her lips. Sarah closed her eyes gently as she felt him get closer, their lips closing in on each other. John B kissing her softly. It was soon interrupted by faint whimpers coming out of the monitor on the bedside table. Sarah pulled away and instantly grabbed the little screen. "Sarah, she's okay. She'll probably go back to sleep." John B told her as they both started to sit up as his wife looked more intently at the screen. Sarah had become very protective over their daughter, the pogues definitely had plenty of enemies over the last few years and that was something she was finding hard to overcome. Bigger house, bigger problems. Sarah sat back against the headboard, still holding the baby monitor and John B kissed her cheek and got out of bed. The noise of him getting up startled their golden retriever Moose, his head perked up and he looked straight at John B. "Mornin Moosey boy!" John B chuckled out, running his hand through his curls as he walked towards the pup. Moose got up and jumped onto the bed, preferring his mom. Sarah let out a laugh and ruffled his fur as John B's face changed from his usual goofy self to a look of betrayal. A soft cry this time echoed from the monitor, Sarah went to get up off of the bed. Moose getting tangled in the sheets as she moved. "I'll go and get her!" John B called out knowing that his daughter would never betray him like his pup did. Sarah shook her head as John B sped out the bedroom and she looked at Moose as she ran her fingers through his fur. "What are we gonna do with him, hey Moose?" She joked and the puppy sniffled.

Valerie. There she was. Cooing and kicking her chubby little legs about in her crib as John B swiftly walked in to check on her. "Is that my little Val? Awake already!" John B softly said as he got closer to the crib, his eyes melting as he looked at the precious little girl laying there blowing bubbles to herself excited to see her father. Sarah, still in the bedroom hearing her husband on the monitor instantly made her feel safe. She was safe, her family was safe. Moose sensed her relief and settled back down on the bed. John B reached down and gently picked their little one up. "You know what they say Valerie," He whispered and kissed her soft head. "Early bird catches the worm." He told her as he swayed her side to side. Her eyes still wet from earlier tears. John B breathed in and smelt something he instantly regretted. "Somebody needs a diaper change!" He said nearly choking on the smell. Sarah laughed to herself, grateful she wasn't the one who had the early morning change. She got up out of bed, John B's bunched up t-shirt falling back down to her thighs. "Val, I don't think daddy has smelt something this bad since Poguelandia!" John B chuckled to himself as he tried to hold his breath, changing his daughter. Sarah was now standing in the doorway watching the love of her life with their precious bundle of joy. "I hate to say it John B, but that smell was all you." Sarah joked, as John B finished changing Valerie and picked her back up. He gasped at Sarah's remark. "Don't listen to mommy Val." He started, "She's just jealous she didn't smell as good as me." He whispered to their daughter. Valerie caught sight of Sarah and pointed her little finger out, reaching out for her mom. "Ha!" Sarah let out. "That's my girl Valerie." She said lovingly, walking over to take Valerie out of John B's arms. John B chuckled and shook his head, "You two will be the death of me." He joked, knowing he's going to have his hands full for the rest of his life.
