It was the year 2033 when she first met him.

Arohi was in eighth grade when a new boy transferred to her school. The word had it that he was very bratty in his previous school so his parents sent him to a boarding school in Ooty. But after spending just a year at that residential school, his grandmother couldn't bear to be away from him. As a result, his parents decided to bring him back to Delhi and enrolled him in Aru's school.

His name was Parth Oberoi.

And Aru already didn't like him.

He had threatened her position as the most famous student of their grade which was undisputedly hers until then.

Aru was the class president and enjoyed being so. She was smart, she was cool, and she also knew how to handle troublemakers in their class. So, the teachers also liked her.

But Parth changed the tide and how!

He had won the Math Olympiad the previous year and was already liked by teachers. He was funny and witty, which earned him a lot of friends too.

Basically, he had all those qualities that Arohi lacked. He was studious, something which Aru wasn't. She was more of an extra-curricular person. Math and science didn't interest her as much as doing impromptu plays during off-periods did! Besides he was very good looking while she was becoming more and more conscious of her being on the overweight side...

Anyway. Conclusion was, Aru didn't like Parth at first sight.

However, the more she tried to stay away from him, the more he used to mess with her.

Anything which she said, he had to oppose it. If she suggested they have a fairytale theme for the school's annual day play, he'd suggest superheroes; if she suggested there should be a week's extension for homework submission, he'd say it was an easy-peasy one. In short if she said north, he said south, if she said east, he had to say west!

And thus, he kept getting on her nerves which continued for the next 3 years.

They kept arguing, giving death glares to each other, and growing up to be headstrong 16-year-olds in the process.

In these 3 years, Aru had reduced her unhealthy weight by using her hobby of dancing as a means of exercise. Her slightly curly hair had grown more lustrous, her beautiful hazel eyes like her mom- Khushi's, now shining with a thousand dreams, her dusky skin-tone which was like her dad- Arnav's, now glowing thanks to a healthy diet. In short, she had metamorphosed into a gorgeous butterfly albeit retaining the attitude of the lion cub that she always was! Her grades had also improved a lot since Pari joined the school 2 years ago.

In short everything had been going amazing in Aru's life by 2036.

Except one guy. Parth Oberoi. Bane of her existence! If that wasn't enough, he was the son of Arnav's biggest business opponent, Madhav Oberoi and brother of her chiku bhaiyya's friend slash "aspiring girlfriend" Priyanka!

Lately, she realized that he was crossing his limit! It was enough that she had to share her position as a class president with him this year, now he also expressed an interest in taking part in their school's drama. Something that was solely Aru's forte! He had never even stepped a foot near the drama theatre their school had. And now he suddenly wanted to take part as an actor? Huh! As if Aru didn't know that he was doing this to annoy her.

The truth, however, was entirely different.

Unknown to Arohi Singh Raizada, Parth Oberoi was fascinated with her! And not just today, he was impressed with her from the first day itself when he joined that school. But he would never admit it! He loved messing with her, getting her all worked up and thus, ensuring getting her attention! Being her friend was out of the question, so this was his way of staying 'relevant' to her.
