Q/N - An experience of heartbreak is a part of nearly every teenager's life and Arnav Khushi's kids didn't stay immune to it either. This chapter and the next few are experiences of ArShi's kids with heartbreaks and how they dealt with it. Also please remember, we know what happens in their future due to CSD sneak-peeks, they don't.

It was summer of year 2033. The best summer yet for 17-year-old Kavish Singh Raizada. He had performed quite well as a right-handed batsman in India's tour in New Zealand for the under-19 cricket team and had already been looked up as the future captain. Although fame was not really new for him because of being ASR and Khushi's eldest child but success was. And having tasted success so early in life already started making him feel like at the top of the world! He was feeling like he could do anything now, he could achieve anything. The sky was truly the limit for him...
People often said he was like Khushi in his smile and his way with people's hearts. But truth be told, his paternal side's genes started showing as the years started rolling. Like a true Raizada or rather a royal Malik, he was tall, handsome and had an enigmatic persona. And like his father Arnav Singh Raizada, he too knew how to focus on his goals and achieve them! At this young age itself, he followed a strict diet and exercise regime, managed to balance his school alongside his hobbies- especially his sports career and had already started getting whatever he wanted.
And currently he wanted to befriend one girl who had impressed him like no one else did. Saloni.
.
.
Rucha Mehta was the daughter of Arnav's friend from Harvard, Jatin Mehta. She and Kavish were born just weeks apart and had been practically together all through their growing years. Rucha's mom Nisha had become Khushi's good friend too and so Mehtas were like an extended family to Raizadas.
Thus, almost everyone had assumed Rucha and Kavish will one day get together.
Albeit they were surprised when a 16-17 years old Rucha started distancing herself from Kavish. Especially since he got selected for India's cricket team a year ago and met new people to hang out with.
For a 16-year-old Rucha it was slightly difficult to come to terms with. Kavi, as she used to call him, was her good friend. And it was not like she had been his only friend. Since their childhood, she had seen him surrounded by many friends – moreover girls their age. And Rucha had never felt insecure or bad about it. She knew that at the end of the day, she was his best buddy and would always remain so. She even used to fight with Ojas aka OJ who was also their childhood friend, and later claimed the spot of Kavish's best friend.
But recently, she couldn't understand why she had felt distance growing between her and Kavish.
It was as if she had started realizing that there were a few things where they both were very different from each other.
Like she was a pampered princess and although kavish too was quite pampered by his family, he was more independent. While she still needed help to so much as go shopping and he could alone manage to travel around the world!
Or in terms of how he liked going to parties, being out for long hours while she craved solitude, comfort of her house. Since she was an only child of her parents, she was used to sharing her time with a very small group. Kavish on the other hand, grew up in a joint family of 10-12 people and could easily find solace in presence of what she called as 'crowd'!
And hence, she found it tough to hang out with him so often. Both weren't wrong, but they were just different.
And it was at this time that they started realizing it. At least she did. She didn't know if kavish sensed it yet.
