The next morning, Karishma spent her time like usual. She wasn’t going to college today; instead, she was heading directly to her clinic. During breakfast, Shivani's words echoed in her mind, making her feel slightly anxious. Santosh noticed something was off but remained silent, watching Karishma closely.
"Di, aaj aap clg nh jayenge?" Santosh finally asked, her voice soft and tentative.
"Haan, Santu. Aaj hum direct clinic jayenge," Karishma replied, her voice betraying a hint of distraction as she absentmindedly stirred her tea.
"Wo special client aaj aane wale h," Santosh reminded her, with a slight tilt of her head, trying to gauge Karishma's reaction.
"Santu, tumne unki details hme nh di h abhi tak," Karishma pointed out, raising an eyebrow in mild reproach.
"Woh di, aaj to aa hi rhe h aur details file apki cabin me h," Santosh reassured, offering a small, reassuring smile.
Karishma nodded thoughtfully, and they both finished their breakfast in relative silence, the air thick with unspoken thoughts. They then headed off to their respective destinations.
At the clinic, Karishma was engrossed in some files when there was a knock on her cabin door.
"Come in," she called out, not looking up, her focus still on the paperwork.
"Good morning, Miss Singh," said a familiar voice.
Karishma looked up, her eyes widening in surprise. "Miss Pawar, aap yahan?" she exclaimed, unable to hide her shock.
Shivani smiled warmly. "Nice to meet you again, Miss Singh."
Karishma offered a polite smile and gestured for Shivani to sit. "Kahiye, Miss Pawar, kaise aana hua?" she asked, trying to keep her voice steady.
"I’m your special client today," Shivani revealed, her eyes twinkling with amusement.
Karishma was taken aback. She quickly glanced at the file again, reading Shivani's name. She gave an awkward smile, her mind racing with confusion. Shivani noticed this and smiled a little more, clearly enjoying the moment.
"Kahiye, Miss Pawar, kya problem h aapki?" Karishma asked, trying to regain her composure, though her hands trembled slightly.
Shivani leaned in slightly, her gaze steady and piercing. "Aap."
"Hein?" Karishma replied, thoroughly confused, her brow furrowing.
"Mujhe aapka time chahiye. Bina official work ki aapka time mil nh sakta," Shivani explained, watching Karishma closely. "Relax, Miss Singh. I’ll explain. You know about my new project, and I need your help with it."
Karishma nodded slowly, still trying to piece things together. "Tell me, Miss Singh, kya aap apni adhuri aaj ko pura karne ke liye apni atit me dastak dena chahte h?" Shivani asked, her tone gentle but probing.
Karishma looked at her, shocked and wide-eyed, her heart pounding in her chest.
"It’s possible, Miss Singh, if you want," Shivani assured, her voice soft and comforting.
Tears welled up in Karishma’s eyes. The weight of Shivani's offer hit her like a wave, leaving her breathless.
"It’s okay, Miss Singh. Take your time and let me know," Shivani said gently before leaving, giving Karishma a reassuring nod.
Karishma closed her eyes, leaning her head back, lost in memories. She could feel the tears streaming down her face, but she didn’t wipe them away. In the car, Shivani called someone. "Mene apna kam kr diya h. Ab dekhte h ki Karishma kya faisla leti h."
