San never went out on Fridays. In fact, he barely went out at all. His life revolved around work—climbing the corporate ladder, impressing his bosses, staying on top of deadlines. As a result, San had become something of a fixture in his office, known for his impeccable suits, sharp jawline, and his intimidating focus on his career. The fact that he took good care of his body and turned heads whenever he walked into a room? That was a side effect of his discipline. But most people at work didn't know much about him beyond that—least of all that he was gay.
San had spent years staying closeted at work, separating his personal life from his professional one. It was safer that way. Fewer questions, less judgment. But it also meant that his social life had withered, leaving him isolated, with little to show for it outside of a stellar resume and a reputation for being one of the most eligible but unavailable men in the city.
But tonight was different. Tonight, Seonghwa, one of San's colleagues and a persistent friend, had somehow convinced him to come out. Seonghwa had a crush on Hongjoong, the DJ playing at the club they were heading to, and he needed moral support.
San looked in the mirror one last time, tugging at his shirt, the hesitation still gnawing at him. He was tired, sure, but a part of him—deep down—was also tired of the routine. The same nights, the same lonely thoughts. Maybe Seonghwa was right. Maybe a night out could shake things up.

Across the city, Wooyoung stood in front of his own reflection, adjusting his designer jacket and trying to shake off the nerves that twisted in his gut. He was new to the city, barely two months in, but already it felt like a world away from the small, conservative town he had grown up in. Here, he could finally be himself—no more pretending, no more hiding. Moving to the city was supposed to be his chance at freedom, but navigating it alone had been harder than he'd imagined.
Tonight, though, he was determined to change that. Jungho and Yeosang, his closest friends since the move, had invited him out. They were always flirting with each other, dancing around their feelings, and tonight Wooyoung hoped maybe they'd sort things out. He was just along for the ride—happy to let loose on the dance floor and maybe, just maybe, meet someone new.

The club was packed when San and Seonghwa arrived, the music pounding through the walls, the lights flashing in rhythmic pulses. Seonghwa immediately veered toward the DJ booth, eyes scanning for Hongjoong. San, on the other hand, made a beeline for the bar, content to stay on the sidelines. He ordered a drink and leaned against the counter, surveying the crowd. He had forgotten what this felt like—the noise, the energy, the anonymity of a club. It wasn't his usual scene, but he had to admit, it wasn't the worst way to unwind after a brutal week.
Meanwhile, Wooyoung had just arrived with Jungho and Yeosang, the three of them pushing through the crowd toward the dance floor. The bass thumped in Wooyoung's chest as he let the music wash over him, his body moving with the rhythm as he lost himself in the sea of people. This—this was why he had moved to the city. Here, he could be anyone, do anything.
But as Wooyoung twirled and danced, the crowd surged unexpectedly, and someone bumped into him hard from behind, sending him stumbling forward. Before he could fall, strong arms wrapped around him, steadying him just before he hit the floor.
"Whoa, you alright?" a deep voice asked, laced with concern.
Wooyoung blinked, breathless, and found himself staring up into the face of a gorgeous man—tall, broad-shouldered, with a chiseled jawline and dark siren eyes that held his gaze longer than necessary. His heart skipped a beat.
"Yeah, I'm fine," Wooyoung said, his voice shaky as he tried to recover. "Thanks for catching me."
The man—San—smiled, a small but genuine curve of his lips that made Wooyoung's pulse quicken even more. "No problem. Pretty crowded out here."
