Wooyoung hadn't wanted to leave his apartment. After his breakup, it felt like he'd shrunk back into himself, his home becoming a safe little cocoon of blankets, ignored texts, and takeout containers. It had been a solid week of wallowing—too much comfort food, too little sleep, and far too many hours replaying what went wrong.

But today, sick of feeling sorry for himself, frankly sick of himself generally, he decided it would probably be a good idea to go outside. It would feel good to stand in the sun, and breathe the fresh air, if only for a little while. There was a park that wasn't too far of a walk from his home, and with no ambition to go anywhere specific, that seemed as good a place as an. A good first attempt at being out in the world, pretending to be a human for a bit. Then, he promised himself, he could come home and wallow some more.

The morning air was crisp, the park a gentle sanctuary filled with people, children running, screaming and playing on the playground, Owners and their dogs weaving through the well-worn paths. It was quiet enough that he could just walk without thinking too much, letting the natural rhythm of his feet on the path guide him as he drifted aimlessly through the green spaces.

He was so lost in his thoughts about his breakup that he almost didn't notice the small, trembling shape hiding under a nearby bench. It was tiny and very afraid.

Wooyoung blinked, tilting his head. There, crouched low and looking up at him with wide, frightened eyes, was a puppy—a little ball of fur that seemed both lost and completely overwhelmed.

"Oh, hey, little one," Wooyoung said softly, kneeling down. The puppy, a mix of something fluffy and utterly adorable, was no more than a few months old, and its big brown eyes watched him warily.

"Are you lost?" Wooyoung murmured, reaching out his hand. The puppy hesitated for a moment, then gave his fingers a tentative sniff before nudging them with his nose. Wooyoung's heart melted instantly. "Yeah, you're a little brave pup, aren't you?"

After a few more gentle head scratches, he scooped the puppy up, feeling its tiny body relax against his chest as if finally finding a safe place to hide from the world. "I know the feeling pup." Wooyoung said as he stood, glancing around for anyone who might be looking for the lost dog. But the park was surprisingly empty in this corner, no one obviously looking for this sweet little creature.

"Alright, let's find your person," he said, cradling the puppy carefully. "Though I can't say I'm not tempted to just take you home myself." The pup snuffled against his chest as though he agreed.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the park, San was running around searching for his puppy, half out of his mind. It had all happened so fast—a big dog had broken free from its owner and came barreling toward his little puppy, and his pup had done the one thing he'd always feared: bolted. He'd looked away for a split second, and then, just like that, his puppy was gone.

"Jin!" San called, his voice catching in his throat as he looked around wildly. "Jin, where are you?"

He had checked every possible place Jin could have hidden, every bush and tree, even underneath benches, hoping to see those familiar little paws. But so far, his search was fruitless, and his heart was pounding, and he was trying to focus without letting the worry take over.

As he rounded another bend in the park, his eyes landed on something that made him stop in his tracks. A few feet away, a stunning dark-haired guy was standing, holding a familiar bundle of fur close to his chest. It was Jin—San would recognize his puppy anywhere.

"Oh my God, Jin!" San practically sprinted over, his relief and happiness obvious as he approached the stranger.

Wooyoung turned, surprised, as a slightly out-of-breath but undeniably handsome guy jogged over. He was looking at the puppy with such relief and affection that Wooyoung's heart did a funny little flip. He barely had time to process it before the guy flashed him a grateful smile.
