Yazhini's POV

I woke up as the soft sunlight filtered through the curtains, gently pulling me from my sleep. Glancing at the clock on my bedside table, I saw that it was already 7 AM. I sighed, realizing I had slept in later than usual. Stretching my arms, I slowly sat up, still feeling a bit groggy from sleep.

Getting out of bed, I headed to the bathroom to start my usual morning routine. I took a warm shower, letting the water wash away the last traces of sleep. The steam helped me feel more awake, and by the time I stepped out and wrapped myself in a towel, I felt refreshed and ready for the day.

Once dressed in something comfortable, I noticed Taffy was already awake, sitting in the lawn area, staring at a butterfly that was fluttering around one of the flowers. After feeding him his morning meal, we made our way to the car. Taffy hopped into the passenger seat, and we set off.

After a 30-minute drive, we arrived at the mansion. Dad was seated in the living room, engrossed in a newspaper. He looked up when he heard me enter, and I walked over to him, giving him a warm hug as I sat beside him.

"Yazhu ma, are you eating your meals and getting enough sleep?" he asked, his voice filled with concern.

"Yes, Dad, I am. Don't worry," I assured him.

"I know how busy you are with work, but don't forget to take care of yourself while you're looking after your patients, okay?" he said, his tone gentle but firm.

"I will, Dad. You don't need to worry," I replied with a smile, appreciating his constant care.

He always worried about my health, knowing I tended to skip meals whenever I was caught up with work. "Alright, I'm going to freshen up," I told him before heading to my room.

Sanjana was likely still asleep, as it was only 9 AM and she usually slept in until around 11. I took my time freshening up, enjoying the familiar comfort of my old room. Taffy stayed with Dad in the living room, so I didn't have to worry about him for now.

As I lay down on my bed to relax for a moment, the memories of my college days unexpectedly flashed before my eyes, bringing back thoughts of incidents I hadn't thought about in a long time.

Author's POV

~Flashback~

Yazhini was sitting on one of the benches in the park on her college campus. Her hair was tied in a loose bun, with a bun stick holding it in place. A few strands of hair had escaped and were softly brushing her cheeks. She had a big book in her lap, another one placed beside her on the right, while she wrote notes in a third notebook. With her exams approaching, she was deep in preparation.

When it came to her studies, she didn't care about anything else, including her health. Often, she would skip her meals while engrossed in her work.

Her phone rang. Without checking the caller ID, she answered and placed the phone to her ear.

"Hello," she said.

"Hello, Yazhu," came the familiar, manly voice of Aarav.

A smile crept onto her lips as she recognized his voice.

"What are you doing? I don't have any classes now. I'm free. Are you free? Can we meet?" he asked.

"Hmm, I'm preparing for my exams. I'm at our usual bench in the park. You can come now," Yazhini replied.
