I stood at the edge of the clearing, my heart pounding, breath caught in my throat as I watched Aurelia and Thorne clash high above. The sky crackled with energy, streaks of light and shadow dancing in a deadly ballet. I felt the tension in the air, an electric pulse that resonated deep within me, urging me to act. But I could do nothing but watch, helpless, as they fought.

The very ground beneath me trembled, echoing the violent force of their battle. Each clash of their powers sent shockwaves through the air, and I could hardly breathe with the weight of dread pressing down on my chest. The sight of Thorne, with his sinister presence, made my blood boil. I had known this confrontation was inevitable, but watching it unfold was torture.

Every strike Aurelia landed filled me with a flicker of hope, but that hope was eclipsed by the ever-looming threat Thorne posed. I could see the darkness swirling around him, the way it seemed to pulse and writhe, feeding off his rage. It filled me with a sickening sense of foreboding.

"Aurelia!" I shouted, though I knew she wouldn't hear me. My voice was swallowed by the chaos above, my heart racing with every moment that passed. I was a spectator to the most significant battle of her life, and it was agonizing to stand idly by.

As they fought, I could feel the air shifting. I knew something was about to change. I watched in horror as Thorne unleashed his true form, wings multiplying, dark magic swirling around him like a tempest. My heart sank.

But then I saw it—the light around Aurelia intensified. She was becoming something more, summoning her divine energy to combat the darkness. I could see the halo above her head, radiating hope and power. The phoenix by her side screeched fiercely, a beautiful embodiment of her strength.

I wanted to scream my support, to tell her she could do it, but the words caught in my throat. She was powerful, but the darkness was relentless. I felt my chest tighten as they continued to clash, the air filled with bursts of energy and roars of fury.

And then it happened. Aurelia unleashed a final attack, a radiant light that enveloped Thorne completely. I could see the shock on his face, and for a moment, triumph surged through me. But that victory was fleeting. As the light faded, I saw the shift in Aurelia's expression, the way her determination faltered, replaced by an unsettling emptiness.

I felt a cold grip on my heart. My instincts screamed that something was wrong, and before I could comprehend what was happening, Aurelia plummeted from the sky. "No!" I shouted, my voice cracking with desperation.

Adrenaline surged through me, and I sprinted forward, instinct taking over. The ground rushed up to meet her, and in that horrifying moment, time seemed to slow. I couldn't let her fall. I had to catch her.

Just as she neared the ground, I leaped, stretching out my arms. I felt a rush of air as I wrapped around her, pulling her into my embrace. Relief washed over me, but it was short-lived. Her body felt limp in my arms, unresponsive, and my heart plummeted into despair.

"Aurelia, wake up!" I pleaded, shaking her gently. Her eyes fluttered but didn't open. Panic surged through me as I pressed my forehead against hers, feeling the warmth of her skin against mine. "Please, come back to me!"

The sound of her name echoed in the air, a desperate prayer that left my lips. I could hardly breathe, the weight of fear pressing down on me. I could feel the remnants of the battle lingering in the air, but all that mattered was her. I needed her to wake up, to open her eyes and tell me everything would be okay.

But all I felt was the coldness of her skin, the faint rise and fall of her breath barely registering. My heart raced as I pressed my fingers against her neck, searching for a pulse. It was weak, almost non-existent.
