ROSESTAR POV

"Pebbleheart!" I wailed. Icestorm had dragged Pebbleheart's limp body back to camp. All four of his legs were broken, but he was alive. For now.

"Icestorm, what have you done!" hissed Irisdream, green eyes narrowed into slits. Her anger was obvious, and her fur was sticking straight up. She lashed her tail in a rage and arched her back.

Icestorm made no reply, only stared in sorrow at Pebbleheart's unconscious body. Irisdream lashed her tail again.

"This is all your fault!" she hissed, attempting to wrench Pebbleheart's leg back into position. It worked. She fixed the other three as well. Pebbleheart was still out.

"Icestorm, you have taken everything. You know I loved him. But I couldn't. Just couldn't. Not with the warrior code." Irisdream hissed softly. She brushed her tail upon his sides. "You mousebrained fur-for-brains mangepelt."

Still no reply from Icestorm. After fixing Pebbleheart's legs and treating him with comfrey, Irisdream stalked out of the den and went out to collect more poppy seeds in case he woke up.

"Starclan." mewed Icestorm finally. "Do not fear, for he was never the one. Look for the one who doesn't control the fire, who is the fire. Only fire will save Starclan. Remain like ashes. Like ashes." A cloud seemed to pass over Icestorm's eyes, and she suddenly seemed very far away.

She blinked. "Rosestar, what just happened?" she asked. I had no answer for her. Only questions.

PEBBLEHEART POV

Agony! Waking up was pure and complete agony! Pain coursed through my every bone. Everything stung. Imagine sinking your teeth into your leg. Now multiply that pain by one million. You'll still have no idea what pain that was.

Bones that I didn't know existed pained me. Everything was this red haze of agony. I think Icestorm was trying to say something. I didn't understand a bit. No time for focus. I was doing my best just surviving.

Whe some of the pain dulled away, at last, I vowed to never be hurt by battles ever again. It was nothing. Everything I had ever thought was "painful" paled to nothing in comparison to this.

Now this was pain.

I won't bore you with details, but it hurt. Just leave it like that. I don't even like to think about it."Pebbleheart, who's fire?" asked Icestorm.

"My legs are on fire." I yelp in pain. Fire was an understatement. More like, incredibly intensive pain times infinity, and, you'll be about a fifth of the way there.

Icestorm grabbed a poppy seed from the herb store and forced it into my mouth. It helped the

pain a little.

"Pebbleheart, you have to focus! The prophecy of Ashstar's kin wasn't refering to you. I think it was refering to Ashstar himself!" Rosestar mewed. Oh Rosestar. Always focusing on Starclan and

the warrior code, no matter what was happening.

"Icestorm, stay here with Pebbleheart. I need to see Ashstar." Rosestar mewed. She went down the tree in a blur and headed in the direction of Thunderclan. ...

"What do you mean?" thundered Ashstar angrily, every hair on his pelt sticking straight up.

"Pebbleheart fell out of a tree, but Icestorm got a prophecy from Starclan that said he wasn't the one?" Rosestar's voice came out like a question as she balked in Ashstar's fiery gaze.

"He fell out of a tree? Which tree? What tree? I will take revenge on the tree! Tree, get over here!" Ashstar yowled.

Tree scuttered over to the leader's den. "Yes Ashstar?" he asked.

Ashstar sighed. "Just go away. I wasn't talking to you." he mewed.

"Our medicine cat Irisdream is taking care of him." Rosestar explained, trying to get Ashstar to calm down. It didn't work. Ashstar called Jayfeather over.

"Jayfeather, this is Rosestar. Take him to Pebbleheart. I don't think that you Leafclan fleabags are smart enough to figure out how to fix a broken bone." Ashstar mewed coldly.

Rosestar was insulted, but decided not to press Ashstar anymore. She led Jayfeather wordlessly to the medicine den.

Irisdream was back, treating Pebbleheart's wounds. "Okay, Pebbleheart. Try not to move for the next few days. I'm sorry to say that you need to stay in this nest until your wounds heal. Thank Icestorm for the serious injury." There was a hint of a snarl in Irisdream's tone when she had mentioned Icestorm's name. Those two cats needed to stop being mad at each other.

...

SQUIRRELFLIGHT POV

"Codebreakers of Starclan. You are hereby banished from Starclan. May the Dark Forest destroy you." announced Silverstone coldly, her mew sending shivers down my spine. This cat was dangerous. Very dangerous.

Then the full force of her words hit me, and I realized what was happening. I was about to be banished from Starclan!

Blackness suddenly enveloped me in a cold embrace. The last thing I saw before blackout was Silverstone purring manically. What was happening?

I was in a dark, dead forest. There were no sounds of prey scuttling about. I looked up and saw no stars.

"Welcome to the Place of No Stars, Squirrelflight. I've been waiting for you." a dark mew sounded from behind me.

The last thing I saw before everything went black were two dark blue slits, glaring at me through the trees.

ASHSTAR!

A/N: Sorry about the short part, only 800 words, but I have a goal to always end on a cliffhanger.
