                                   Chapter Four: The Lesson

                                        Elvira Jones

——————————————————————————————

I hear my alarm go off. I open my eyes and turn off my alarm. Always that annoying noise so early in the morning. I look at my alarm clock and see that it is eight o'clock. I have to be at school at nine o'clock. I yawn and rub my eyes to wake up. I grab my glass of water on my bedside table and take a sip of water. I get out of bed and open my curtains and window. The sun is rising, which is always a beautiful view to watch. I go back to my bed and start making it. I look at my phone, which is on the charger, and take it off the charger when I see that it is at one hundred percent. I look at the weather app and see that it will be an autumn day, only fifteen degrees. I walk to my closet and choose my clothes: A black sweater with a back print, blue jeans and my black adidas campus shoes. I put it down on my bed and then sit at my desk. I put my phone down next to me and put on music softly. I grab my facial care and put it on. When I'm done with facial care, I clean it up and then grab my makeup. I never really wear a lot of makeup, but I do wear some. It's an autumn day, so I grab some blush, highlighter, eye shadow, mascara, eye pencil, setting spray and an eyelash curler.  I start doing my makeup. I hear a Mystery Girl song playing in the background. I put on some light brown eyeshadow to give it an autumn look. I use my black eye pencil and draw a line on my waterline near my eye. I start putting on my mascara.

"Siri." I say. "Good morning, Elvira. How are you today?" Sounds from my phone. "Good morning, Siri. Things are going well today. Can you take a look at my school schedule to see which subjects I have?" I ask and I see my phone open my school schedule app. I quickly close my mascara once it's in place and it's done. I look at my schedule and see that I am only in the studio, so we are going to design and make clothes. "Siri, can you open WhatsApp?" I ask, while I'm doing my eyebrows. Siri opens Whatsapp and then I see the name 'Olive' again. I have an appointment with Olive at noon in the park, near my school. I turn off my phone and curl my eyelashes with my eyelash curler. I clean off my makeup and grab my lip gloss. I look at my makeup in my mirror, get up from my chair and then grab my handbag for school. I put it down on my chair and grab my sketchbook, headphones, charger, notebook, laptop and pencil case. I put my lip gloss in a separate compartment in my bag and zip my bag closed. I put on my outfit and look in my mirror. My makeup and outfit match beautifully. I walk to my perfume and body mist shelf and choose a Vanilla scented body mist and spray some.

I grab the body mist and walk to my bag, I open it and put my body mist in it. I close my bag again.  I put my phone in my pocket and grab my bag, put it on my shoulder and walk downstairs. I close the door behind me. I walk down the stairs and put my bag down on the counter. I take my drinking bottle from the kitchen and put it next to my bag. I make breakfast and something to eat at school. I sit down at the kitchen table and start eating. After my meal I clean up my plate and put it in the dishwasher. "Good morning, honey." I hear my mother say, who has just woken up. "Morning, Mom." I say and put my food and bottle in my bag. "Ready for school?" She asks and makes a cup of coffee. "Yes, I'll be home later by the way. I'll stop by the store at noon." I say, I lie about the shopping part. "That's fine, have fun at school." She says as I grab my jacket and put it on. I give my mother a kiss on her cheek and then put my handbag on my shoulder and grab my key. I open the door and close it behind me. I take my phone out of my pocket and look at the time. It's a quarter to nine, I still have fifteen minutes until I have to be at school. I'm walking towards school. I walk into the schoolyard and immediately see Lexi standing at the entrance of the building, busy chatting with some of our classmates. As soon as she sees me, she waves enthusiastically and walks towards me.
