Zoe sat on the sofa back inside of her apartment. She didn't usually cry. It took a lot for her to cry. She was numb to most things because she had made herself that way. But she remembered her parents, and relived the day that they were killed over and over in her head. She was 7 years old, they had had an amazing day at the funfair and the beach. She remembered being stuffed full from candy floss and cola, popcorn and fries. All she had done all day was eat. She was clutching her fluffy unicorn that her father had won for her at one of the stalls. They were all talking happily, as they pulled up at the stoplight.
Zoe squinted her eyes as she relived the pain of watching the car be surrounded. Her father did not give up the car, so him and her mother were hacked to death in broad daylight by machetes. Zoe had managed to get out and run, two of the men gave chase and she dropped her unicorn as she ran in fear of her little life. She was small and knew hiding places that they couldn't get to, but she remembered their faces. They had been etched in her head in detail forever. They never found her and after sitting in her hiding place for hours she started to wander back towards the car.
It was carnage. Her mother and father had been taken away in body bags both dead at the scene. She watched from the top of the embankment until the scene had been cleared before a police officer saw her and helped her down, talking to her.
She opened her eyes and sighed. She missed her parents deeply, they were both amazing people. They had Good jobs and raised her and her sister well. Dana wasn't there that day as she was at camp with the school. Zoe had to live with the nightmares and anxiety, which spread to OCD, she shut off emotions because she believed to feel and love would only bring heartache. Her sister had proved that by stealing her boyfriends and blaming her OCD for it.
She quickly wiped away her tears and straightened herself up. She picked up her cell and scrolled to Austin's number. For some reason she couldn't just let him go like she had the rest. She wanted to fight to see him, even have him. She hadn't felt like that about anyone before, but she was feeling it for him.
Zoe
Please don't fuck my sister. You'll just add yourself to a list of a long line of men that she has had with no thoughts or real feelings for them. I like you, what you do with that is up to you.She then scrolled to another name 🤡🤡Marcel and she sent a text to him, as she had done the same thing to his cell without him knowing.
Zoe
As you seem to be the one that is rational and listens, please come to my house now, so I can talk to you. My address is under my number on your cell.—————
Marcel was playing xbox with a couple of others. He stopped and handed the controller to one of his trues as he felt his cellphone buzz in his pocket. He took it out and looked at it. He saw a message from Zoe and just seeing her name made him smile. He read the message.
🤡🤡Marcel
There was me thinking I had you all worked out. You did the same shit to me! Aite, I'll come over in 20 minutes, and then you can tell me why you are not on a date with my brother?
"Sorry boys I need to love you and leave you.. I need to head out." He said and grabbed his car keys as he left them.—————
"So you've never been married or been in a serious relationship?." Dana asked Austin as she sat opposite him in a secluded booth at the back of the Thai restaurant., sipping her wine.
He sighed. "I've been in plenty of relationships, but ain't none of them worked out... I just haven't found the one. So no I definitely ain't been married." He sniggered.
" yeah, well it was a mistake for me to marry Jeremy, we've only been together a year and a half... We were married two months after meeting"
"Damn that's quick as hell..Why the rush?." He laughed.
"I wanted to make sure he was mine...
Austin pulled his cellphone out. "Sorry, I need to keep a check on my phone. I get business calls coming through all the time." He told Dana.
She shrugged. "It's fine by me."
Austin saw a couple of messages and then he saw Zoe's name. He was hesitant but he clicked on it and read it. He looked at Dana across the table who was now looking at her cellphone. So he text back
🍆 Big A
Why did you run away like that, I really thought you wanted to spend time with me?. I need to tell you I don't like to be messed around. But I will say this, I don't have any intention of fucking yo sister.Dana smiled at him. "Are you ready to order?.. because I would much prefer to go back to your place and eat there."
He nodded. "Let's go, I ain't really feeling this restaurant now either"

Marcel arrived at Zoe's door. She let him in. He looked around for his brother's car and then for his brother inside. He frowned. "Where is he?.. did you fuck him to death?."
Zoe smiled, she liked Marcel, he was as blunt as she was. "No, we didn't get to the date. My sister got to him first like the man eater she is."
"Oh really?.. he's not usually a pushover, it takes a lot for him to go on a date even." He said.
"My sister is very good at manipulating the opposite sex. Very good, she got it down to a fine art." She told him. "The thing is though I really like him, I did as soon as I saw him.."
"So what am I here for?." He asked her."I just needed a friend, I never have anyone to talk to apart from Psychologists and psychiatrists trying to pick my brain part, they talk at me they don't talk to me. And people avoid me because I can be quite complicated, I know that. And when I lost my best friend, and she was murdered, I stopped talking to everyone because I just felt so hurt and damaged and I decided that if I didn't talk and open up to anybody then I couldn't get hurt....
Marcel hugged her, he couldn't help it. She was carrying a lot inside.
"I've got feelings for your brother and I'm scared because I don't wanna get hurt, but my sister doesn't care. She doesn't care at all."
