(A/N: I'M SO SORRY FOR NOT UPDATING THIS, I FORGOT ABOUT IT AND HAD A LOT GOING ON!! I'M GOING TO TRY AND UPDATE THIS MORE FREQUENTLY UNTIL FINISH! (also, sorry to say, but last fluff chapter before some angst mwahaha 😈))

FIREBALL POV

me and pound had fallen asleep against each other again, i chuckle softly as i sit up from the grass with hazy vision.

i rub my eyes and stretch my arms above my head and i notice pound starting to wake up too. "did we fall asleep again?" he says with a soft laugh as he sits up next to me, our hands brushing for a second.

i ignore the fireworks that it sets off in my stomach and nod with a chuckle, "yep." i say with a grin as i rise to my feet, offering out my hand to him.

he accepts and i pull him up, almost falling over i place a hand on his waist to keep him from falling over.

i had spaced out for a second and hold him for longer than i should, i quickly let go "sorry-" i say, a light dust rising to my cheeks.

pound laughs before stepping back slightly, "it's fine." he says with a gentle smile.

we talk for a bit longer before yearbook calls out to pound, asking to quickly talk to him. he gazes back at me for a second before nodding to yearbook.

"coming! see ya 'round fireball!" he says with a soft smile before running off. "bye pound!" i call, returning the soft smile.

i watch as he runs toward yearbook and the two begin to walk off, yearbook starting to talk to him.

i sigh, placing a hand over my heart, why was it beating so fast? pound is just a friend.. right?

I try to ignore the feelings and wave it off, walking toward the fire tower. it was almost a fancy lookout tower in some capacity.

it looked like a bigger lighthouse made from cobblestones and fiery (BFDI REFERENCE??) coloured wood down the bottom. i make my way up the stairs of the tower and rest at the top, sitting in my pile of pillows.

i lean my head back but only one thing stayed on my mind.

pound.

POUND POV

i run off toward yearbook, "what do you need?" i ask, starting to walk beside her.

she gazes off before bringing her gaze back to me, "two things actually." she mumbles before clearing her throat and speaking.

it was the one thing i didn't want to hear,

"are you going to tell fireball about.. the past?"

i go quiet, gazing away as we come to a stop under some trees. "i-i don't.. maybe..? i'm just- worried that.. i'll ruin what we have now.." i mutter

"he deserves to know, pound." she says, a worried gaze on her face.

"i know that but-.. what if he hates me for not saying something sooner?"

"he'll only end up hating you more the longer you take to tell him." she says softly.

as much as i wanted yearbook to just restore his memories and have him forgive me, i knew that i needed to tell him before she could just.. restore his memories.

"..i'll tell him. the next time we stay up late talking.. i'll tell him." i say, bringing my gaze up to her.

"this is the right thing, pound." she says with a reassuring smile.

"what else did you need to talk to me about?" i ask, raising a brow and tilting my head.

a soft dust rises to her cheeks, "oh- just-.."

i raise a brow with a small smirk. "just?"

"i-i think i like mirror! i-i don't know-" she starts to babble about mirror while i soft smile.

"hey just go for it! i'm sure she likes you too." i say with a reassuring smile, "how hard can it be?"

"VERY HARD POUND."
