Hi. I am Harriet Lacey. And this is my tale of how I unexpectedly fell in love with a person I'd never thought I'd fall for (I admit it's kind of embarrassing)

Honestly, I can't even recall how and what happened just because it  happened so suddenly but I do remember my friends praising my enemy for the 16th time that day (Yes I do remember that perfectly).

"Harriet! He's not your enemy! You've just created an image of him like a grim reaper with a scythe tearing your brain apart" Giselle barked.
I rolled my eyes
"He is though. He always looks so proud and over the moon whenever he gets better grades than me, only if he stops making that punchable face whenever he gets good grades then maybe I would consider.
"Seriously Harriet? You have NEVER EVER even talked to him properly!"
That was a fact. I've never had a proper conversation with Ethan Hudson, but I have heard him being talked about so much that I think I don't even need to talk to him.

Ethan Hudson. Good in academics, well built, brunette messy hair, tanned skin and hazel brown eyes. Just the "ideal" type of guy for every girl (I guess?)
He was attractive I'd admit but I just wasn't up for him and thought more of him as an academic rival rather than a prince charming who'd save me from a troupe of wretched ninjas. He was nice, just not for me. And just that, speak of the devil.
Ethan came out from the library, a book in his hand,

"Hey Ethan!"
Giselle was my best friend. But sometimes I just felt like kicking her ankles. Seriously? Why does she always have to interact with Ethan? She's not even INTERESTED in him! Or maybe I sometimes forget that Giselle is a natural extrovert and can strike up a conversation even with a mute person.
"Uhm Hi"
He glanced over Giselle's shoulder.
"Where are you heading to?"
"Nothing just going to chit-chat a bit with Benjamin"
"Oh yeah I heard he has a tennis match this evening"
"Yeah you're right"
"Tell him I wish him luck!"
"Sure"
Benjamin was Ethan's best friend. And I think Benjamin was the more sensible one while Ethan always went around making jokes over everything.
Ethan's brown eyes glanced over me, as if he had read my mind and his smooth-going smile turned into a nervous  one
"Oh, uh hey Harriet"
"Hi."
"Didn't see you there"
What is he? Blind?
He started looking here and there nervously and I wondered if he had something to say.
And HE DID have something to say.
"C-can you uhm come to the chemistry lab for a second? I need to tell you something"
I think I freezed for a second or two.
What would he want from me? Is he going to ask me for my notes? No I am not giving him that!
Ethan waited, fidgeting with the bookmark of his book for my answer.
"Harriet?"
I snapped out of it, finally
"Uh me?"
"Yes"
"Okay, alright"
I trudged through the awkward feeling to the chemistry lab. What could possibly would Ethan want to tell ME?
