It was a peaceful night in the vast forest they'd traveled. Miles upon miles, as exhausting as it was, it was amazing. Finally getting to walk with the man she'd loved since she was a child. Finally getting to see the side of him that was sweet and loving. The side of him nobody else had the privilege of seeing. Seeing his eyes soften when he met her gaze, his hand always looking for hers to hold. His body never wanting to be away from her. His mind never wanting to think of anything but her. His heart beating for her.

Their love comes once in a lifetime. A love that took years to bloom but it finally did, and it was worth every second of the wait. She was so happy to see that he was finally okay. All she wanted for him their whole lives was for him to feel truly happy again, something he lost at a very young age.

Even though she cannot change the past, she can change the future. She always will, for him. She will always make sure he's smiling. Make sure he's calm, taken care of, and loved.

"You know... we haven't been to a village in a long time. It feels like this forest has been going on forever." She pointed out, bending down to pick a flower she saw.

"We can stop at the nearest one if you'd like to get proper rest." He said as he walked next to her, looking at the pretty white flower she picked.

He grabbed it gently from her hands and slid it into her hair, adding a beautiful touch to her already gorgeous appearance.

She blushed and stared at him blankly for a few moments, her mouth agape. He snorted a bit at her reaction and offered his hand to her. It took her a few moments to compute but she grabbed his hand eventually and they continued walking.

"You know what I think you'd look better with this flower in your hair." She said jokingly as she took the flower out.

Sasuke glanced at her from the side as if saying, "I wouldn't suggest doing that". She giggled and slid his hair behind his ear before adding the flower.

She let out a cute squeal and smiled up at him. "You look perfect, Sasuke-kun..." she said as she got a bit lost in his gaze. Sasuke snorted and wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling her in for a kiss. She kissed him back almost immediately, but it still stunned her when he did that. Her blush slowly faded into her hair, her kisses becoming more delicate as her small hands clenched his coat.

"W-we should g-get to a cave or something..." she said after pulling away.

Sasuke smirked and nodded, holding his hand out once again. "Yes m'lady" he said lowly, teasing her a bit. She pouted and followed him, her hand glued to his.

They arrived a few minutes later to a small cave on the side of a mountain, it was cold but provided plenty of privacy for the two of them.

Sakura settled her things down, unrolling her futon and putting her stuff down, sitting down on the futon and opening her medical scroll. She liked to study them every chance she got. She wanted to get better no matter what.

Sasuke collected wood and made a fire for the two of them. The cold didn't bother him, but he knew it bothered her a lot. He'd had to warm her up more than once. Though he didn't mind at all, he wanted her comfortable.

"Thank you, Sasuke-kun." She said sweetly, her smile reforming.

He unrolled his futon right next to hers and laid down, his head cuddled into her side, his arm around her hips. She immediately put down her scroll, her left hand coddling his head as she looked down at him.

"Are you okay?" She asked softly.

He nodded after a moment, nuzzling further into her. "Don't lie to me." She said softly, knowing something was wrong. He only cuddled her like this when something was wrong or he just needed support. Otherwise, he was the one holding her.

He looked up at her and sighed. "Just... thinking too much I guess."

"What about sweetheart?" She whispered, turning completely toward him and holding his head between her chest.

He didn't respond to that one. She figured she already knew what it was, probably related to his family. "Do you miss him?" She asked, hitting the nail right on the head.

He nodded into her chest. "I miss all of them. I wish they would've gotten to meet you." He mumbled, holding her tighter now. She smiled a bit, then let out a sweet giggle. "I may not have met them, but I do know they'd be so happy if they could see you now. How much you've grown, how much you've learned to love. That's a hard thing to relearn after what happened. You did, that's probably the most amazing thing to them. I know it is to me." She said, making sure he could hear her.

"Itachi would've liked you."
