My name is John.

Last year, I transferred to Welston Private High School... Hoping it would be different.

But I was wrong.

This place was just like everywhere else

Student: So John... What kind of ability do you have?

[Students in the classroom looked at him.]

John: Well... To be honest... I don't have one.

In this world, strength defines a person.

[We see John getting picked on.]

And those without strength are crushed under the weight of the hierarchy.

[We see the Royal. Arlo the King, Seraphina the Ace, Remi the Queen, and Blyke the Jack. We even see other people who hold power like Isen and Cecile.]

[We see John getting picked on again but this time. A girl stood up for him and defeated the bullies.]

She was different though.

Seraphina, the most powerful Royal was willing to approach me.

Like me, she was tired of living by the standards that society had set for her... 

And through that...

We became friends.

Despite it being a pretty violent world out there...

She was always around.

Her presence made everything a bit more bearable.

But sadly...

Our friendship was disruptive to the hierarchy...

...Which resulted in some interference.

Arlo, King of the Royals

Lured me into a false sense of security...

... and ambushed me.

I don't know what I did to deserve this.

All I wanted was to start over.

[John then uses his ability he never told anyone.]

But he forced my hand

[It shows a fight breaking out and John winning.]

So I crushed him.

John: If anyone finds out about what happened here today... I'll dethrone you.

On that day, I lost control and my secret became known...

...a part of me that I tried to forget...

[It shows John in his last school where the power went to his head. Corrupted by his ability to copy others. He became paranoid and lashed out on everyone.]

...one that I didn't want anyone to see.

It all went downhill after that...

[We see Seraphina get injected with a syringe by mysterious people.]

Everything around me started falling apart.

Sera lost her ability.

And just like that...

The school's Ace became nothing more than prey for others to hunt.

[Sera gets bullied by other students who held stupid grudges against her.]

I had to do something.

I couldn't let her continue like this...

So I decided...

[We see John and Arlo.]

John: I just wanted to live a calm life, away from all the rankings! Things were fine till you came along and crushed everything I built up for the last two years. For what?! Because I wasn't acting my rank!? Because you had to place me somewhere in your f*cking hierarchy-?! The reason you approached me... The reason people won't leave Sera alone... It's all because of your fixation on this hierarchy.

I will do everything in my power to tear down the hierarchy.

[We see John getting a black mask.]

I became Joker...

To make a mockery of this system...

To destroy those who enforce it...

To take down all who stand at the top!

[We see John take out Isen.]
