~Kiara
________Confused, I woke up slowly stretching. "I don't remember falling asleep..", I thought to myself in my head. Peeling my eyes open, which seemed incredibly difficult for some reason, I looked around realizing I'm in a hospital bed.
"What happened to me..", I mumbled as I looked around the room. My eyes stopped at the corner, noticing a figure curled up in the chair, wrapped in a blanket. I peered my eyes to get a clearer look, hoping my eyes were deceiving me.
"Sydney?!"
No response. Maybe I'm going crazy I don't even know why I'm in the hospital. I slowly got up from the hard, uncomfortable bed, tripping on wires I didn't realize were there. I bumped right into the bottom of the chair, making contact with the persons leg on the chair.
They jumped awake, quickly realizing that instead of me being in the bed, I'm on the floor.
"Kiara! This is the second time you tripped over my fucking legs!"
Second time? The only persons legs I tripped over was Sydney's...
"Sydney?!"
She laughed hearing the excitement in my voice from just saying her name. She leaned forward getting close to my ear before whispering, "Hi, keke." I could feel my heart beating throughout my whole body, there was no way this was happening.
"Am I dreaming? There's no fucking way that this is happening? What the fuck am I even doing here anyway? Oh my god, am I dying...?"
"Kiara!", the person shouted at me.
"Huh..?", I said on the verge of tears.
"You're not dying and you're not dreaming either. Its really me, its really Sydney. You had a little incident with my now uh- ex-girlfriend and thats how you ended up in here. Scaring the shit out of me."
"But why are you here, why do you even care..?"
"Uh-, because-, nothing, just don't worry about that love.", Sydney says smiling , and scratching the back of her neck.
"Well are you gonna help me up off of the floor?"
"As long as you promise to trip over my legs again"
"Oh trust me, I probably will", I say laughing.
Sydney got up and scooped me off the ground with ease, as if I weighed nothing. She slowed her steps towards the bed glancing all over my face.
"What? Am I ugly or something?"
"Shut up", Sydney said rolling her eyes. I stared back at her and we stayed like that for a minutes. Aja came in the room, scaring the shit out of both of us.
"OH MY GOD WHAT HAPPENED?"
"Got damn! Loud mouth ass.", Sydney said as she placed me down on the bed gently.
Once Aja realized I was awake she bolted towards me, wrapping me tight in her arms. "Keke!", she squealed. She backed up taking my face in her hands. "I was so fucking worried about you bitch!" I smiled, still feeling confused on what had happened. But, I was really wondering what was happening with Sydney. Was I imagining things? Or was she really staring at me, and the way she got so close to my ear... just to say my nickname.
"Kiara?!"
"Huh?"
"You blacked out on us for a second"
"I'm finna go get the doctor", Sydney said walking out.
"Why is Sydney here?", I asked Aja.
She casually shrugged her shoulders. "I dunno, I told her she didn't have to stay, but she wants to.", Aja said wiggling her eyebrows at me.
"Alright, Ms. Kiara", a booming voice was heard throughout the room. Not too much to worry about here, you just fell unconscious due to the force of the punch-"
"Punch?", I interrupted.
"Yes, ma'am, you passed out to due to the blunt force trauma of the punch. I would like to keep you here overnight, I've heard we've been having some black outs and it seems like some memory loss and/or confusion as well. Those are normal withstanding the conditions you've been through, so we have nothing to worry about as of now. Any questions?"
"No sir.", I replied.
As soon as the doctor left the room I got up and went to the bathroom. Aja came in shortly after.
"Omg, my face..." I mumbled staring at myself in the mirror.
"It's just swollen keke, it'll go down and you'll look exactly how you did before. And they're giving you a medication to help with it."
"I mean I'll give it to her that bitch can punch", I saying laughing dryly.
"Girl you crazy", Aja says rolling her eyes.
We come out of the bathroom and I sit down on the bed. "Man, this bed is so fucking uncomfortable"
Aja and Sydney laugh. "You gon be igh love, only got a few more hours in it." Sydney says. My heart skips a beat hearing her call me "love." I've noticed she's been doing that a lot more recently.
"Keke, are you hungry?", Aja asks.
"Always, love me some food."
"Bitch! Yo big back ass. What you want to eat?!"
"Uhhh, sushi!"
Aja rolls her eyes. "Of course you want sushi"
"I'll go pick it up, just text me what you want.", Sydney says.
Sydney gets up walking towards my bed. My breathing gets heavier the closer she walks, and I didn't realize I was leaning back until she said so.
"C'mere gimme a hug, ion bite." I leaned forward letting Sydney hug me. Unable to contain my smile, I looked up at her. "Imma be right back", she said slowly backing away and leaving out of the room.
"Keke and Sydney kissing in a tree. K-I-S-S-I-N-G. First comes love-..."
"Aja what the fuck is going on?!"
"Like I said.", Aja continues. "First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes the little baby in the carriage."
"There's no way Sydney thinks of me like that.", I said out loud.
"Really?", Aja says. Cause she shole aint acting like it."
