On-jo was comforting Cheong-san by the window as you sat at the table, head resting on your knee, struggling to process how everything had unraveled in just a single day. How had it all fallen apart so quickly?
The room was silent.
"I couldn't hear a thing!" Cheong-san exclaimed, his voice rising in frustration, as the room fell silent.
"Like what?" Su-hyeok asked, his eyes narrowing slightly.
"After Na-yeon left, and Miss Park followed, I heard nothing more," Cheong-san explained, his gaze fixed on the floor.
"You mean... screaming?" Su-hyeok asked again, his brow furrowing in confusion
"Yeah," Cheong-san nods, his expression tense.
"Maybe they're still alive...just dumb luck," you shrugged, leaning back and closing your eyes.
"They wouldn't have been quiet if zombies were biting them. They must be alive," Dae-su grumbles, frustration edging his voice. "Why won't you respond... No one ever answers me. I'm always talking to myself." His words hung in the silence that filled the room after his addition to your own thoughts.
"I agree," On-jo said.
"Forget it," Dae-su snaps, crossing his arms as he leans back, clearly annoyed by the unbroken silence.
"Neither did I," On-jo added.
"Me neither. I was scared because... I didn't know how I'd feel if I heard them screaming. But I didn't hear anything," Hyo-ryung murmured, her voice barely breaking the quiet. Su-hyeok looked up, blinking rapidly before dropping his gaze back to the floor, his shoulders tense, as if he were fighting back tears. You wanted to comfort him but felt helpless, hoping that keeping the conversation going might be enough to distract him.
"Come to think of it, neither did I," Joon-yeong adds quietly, his eyes distant as he recalls the silence that had unsettled them all.
"So, Y/N and I were right. They're alive, aren't they?" Dae-su pointed to you and himself, and Joon-yeong nodded.
"Should she be alive?" Ji-min speaks up, her tone sharp, a hint of venom threading through her words.
"What do you mean?" Joon-yeong asked, turning to her.
"She's a murderer. She killed Gyeong-su and escaped. Does she deserve to live? Aren't you all being hypocritical?" Ji-min snapped, her eyes fixed on you.
"You know, wishing death on someone—even if it's Na-yeon—makes you just as bad as her," you say firmly, meeting Ji-min's gaze. She stares back at you, taken aback but silent.
"You said you were going to kill her. So are you saying you're the same as her?" Ji-min interrogates
"I'm not the same as her. I'm worse. See, I wouldn't just... kill someone I purely hated. I'd torture them," you blurt out coldly, the words slipping from your lips with a chilling intensity.
"You're insane," Ji-min scoffed, as you shrugged.
"Thank you," you mumble, swinging your legs back and forth as they dangle off the edge of the table.
"What about Miss Park? Shouldn't she have died too?" Wu-jin interrupted, turning to Ji-min.
"Is that our fault?" Ji-min snaps at him,
"Either way, we're responsible for what happened," Wu-jin states calmly, his voice steady as he tries to ground the escalating tension in the room.
"Yeah, we let it happen," you hummed in agreement.
"Why is that? What did we do wrong? Na-yeon killed someone, then played the victim and chose to leave on her own... because we didn't listen to her. If no one's on your side, is it okay to kill?" Ji-min lists, her voice rising with indignation as she confronts the weight of responsibility.
"I don't want to cause a scene but can we not bring up the whole Na-yeon murdered someone situation. You're pissing me off" You groan out not wanting to hear about Gyeong-su as every time the situation gets mentioned or even his name your heart falls to your stomach
"Miss Park acted like we were wrong! We didn't tell Na-yeon to go out there. We didn't tell Miss Park to go out there, either! Why should we feel bad? What the hell did we do wrong?" Ji-min lets out her anger, her voice trembling with frustration as she struggles to make sense of it all.
"We hinted that we wanted her out, and Miss Park never acted like we were in the wrong. She lived up to her title as a teacher and taught us a valuable lesson. She left to go after Na-yeon because she always puts students before herself. Why? I don't know. But I know that if I wanted to go out those doors like Miss Park did, I'd be dragged back into this room by force. I'm not saying that to boost my ego; I'm stating the truth. It's our fault that issue occurred, and it's our fault we allowed her out of this room. I agree we shouldn't take full blame, but part of this is on us," you exclaim, your voice cutting through the tense silence. Ji-min glares at you, but you meet her gaze head-on, and she quickly looks away, the weight of your words hanging in the air.
"Hey. I feel weird saying this, but—" Su-hyeok starts as you and Wu-jin look at each other then at him
"Don't say it," you and Wu-jin chorused, punching Su-hyeok in the stomach. He groaned, gripping your wrist tightly, and looked down. Confused, you stared back at him. Su-hyeok released a shaky breath, his grip still firm on your wrist.
"Does anyone else have to go to the bathroom, by any chance?" Su-hyeok questions desperately, his voice trembling. You glance down at his legs, which are shaking uncontrollably, and your eyes widen in alarm. You instinctively try to pull your wrist away, but he tightens his grip, holding on as if it's his only lifeline.
"Sorry," you muttered, realizing the force of your punch. A heavy silence fell over the group as Su-hyeok glanced around, hoping someone would suggest leaving.
"Am I the only one?" he questions, his voice laced with anxiety, searching the faces around him for some sign of solidarity.
"I do," Dae-su raised his hand.
"We should go too, but we can't leave," Hyo-ryung admitted.
~🧟♂️🧟🧟♀️~
"Why are you blaming me for this? Su-hyeok brought it up. Pooping's not a crime," Dae-su grumbles, his frustration evident. Wu-jin leans on the table, his shoulder brushing against Nam-Ra as Wu-Jin and Nam-Ra was sitting togather while Su-hyeok's arm rests on your other shoulder, both of them drawing closer as the tension in the room thickens.
"It's not illegal, but..." Wu-jin muttered.
"What about you?" Dae-su asks, pointing at Cheong-san, his tone challenging as he seeks an answer from him.
