CHAPTER 18

Next day,

Vedika, Chachi and Aarushi were sitting in the living room with crossed legs. Aarushi's Squad was present around the dining table waiting for breakfast. Alok, Chacha ji and Rajveer were trying to make breakfast for the squad. As megha has gone to her relatives and their wives are fasting they will do the cooking today.

"I'm starving!" Karthik held his stomach and groaned.

"Me too" Ananya rests her head on the table. Ishaan was busy on his phone. Ridhima is trying to peek inside the kitchen.

Meanwhile,

"We are ready with the extinguishers right? we may need them" Vedika asks Aarushi and Chachi. "We can't take any chance" Chachi nods.

"And why would we need extinguishers?" Aarushi asked looking at them.They gave each other a look. "Last time they created a whole disaster and almost burned the kitchen!" Chachi replies."So we are taking precautions this time" Vedika sighed.

After some time, Alok and Chacha ji came out of the kitchen saying, "Breakfast is ready!!!!" Rajveer emerges from the kitchen, his hand hastily concealed behind his back. He takes his seat near the table and glances around furtively before announcing, "Enjoy your breakfast, everyone!"

Aarushi frowns, 'Why is he hiding his hand?' her thoughts broke when Vedika and Chachi walked towards the table to check the disaster.... I mean the food they made. Aarushi follows them.

Karthik blinks at the plates in confusion, "Yeh Khana hai?"

Ridhima reaches out to grab roti, only for it to instantly fall down. "Oops" Ananya snaps a few pictures of the disastrous food they invented, "what a culinary masterpiece!"

"By looking you can't judge. Eat!" Rajveer said in a firm tone. Karthik hesitated but took a bite before coughing and throwing it out. Watching him Ridhima and Ananya didn't dare to eat and kept the morsel back on the plate. "Aisa khana kha kar haajme ki goli Leni padegi baad me" Karthik hisses.

[After eating such food, I will have to take digestion pills later]

Aarushi controlled her laugh. Rajveer smacks Karthik's head. "Stop over acting!"

"You can eat your master dish too" Karthik forwarded the plate to him. Rajveer ate some and repeated the same thing by coughing and throwing it out. "What the hell!" he yelled out. Vedika sighs and glances at Alok who gave her an innocent look. Ishaan shook his head. "I've ordered the food let's wait"

"Thank you Bhai warna aaj toh bhukha hi mar jaata mai" Karthik says dramatically.

[I would have starved to death]

Aarushi shifts to Rajveer's side before whispering "Master chef kya khana banaya hai" she chuckles. He gives her a forced smile making her laugh more.

"But what's wrong with your hand? Why are you hiding it behind?" She asks.

As Rajveer sees Aarushi's inquisitive expression, he can't hold the secret any longer. He slowly reveals his burned hand. Her eyes widened, "Veer you burnt your hand?"

Rajveer winces as she touches his hand. He says, "I must say, the pain is oddly fitting given the disaster on our plates"

"I'll apply some ointment" She takes his hand and starts leading him upstairs. As they walk, he can't help but notice how gentle she's being with his injured hand. "You don't have to do this, you know"

She glared at him to shut up. They entered the room. "Sit, I'm coming" He sits on the bed as instructed, watching as she rummages through the medicine cabinet. He can't help but smirk slightly at her motherly fussing over his minor injury.
