As they caught their breath, Suyeon felt a sense of urgency surge within her. They had come so far, and now they were so close to bringing Minho down.
“We need to contact your friend,” she urged, looking around the room. “Time is running out.”
“Right, let me find my phone,” Jungkook replied, rummaging through his pockets. After a moment, he pulled out the device, relief flooding his face. “It’s still working. Let me text him.”
Suyeon watched as he typed quickly, her heart racing. Every second felt crucial.
“Done,” Jungkook said, glancing up at her. “Now we wait.”
But as they settled into the room, Suyeon couldn’t shake the feeling of dread. Minho wouldn’t just give up. He would come for them, and they had to be ready.
“What if we’re ambushed?” Suyeon asked, her anxiety creeping back in. “What if we don’t have enough time?”
“We’ll be ready,” Jungkook reassured her, his voice firm. “We’ve faced worse together, and we’re going to get through this.”
Suddenly, there was a loud bang from the entrance of the room. Suyeon’s heart dropped as the door flew open, revealing a group of Minho’s men.
“Found you,” one of them sneered, raising his weapon.
“Run!” Jungkook shouted, grabbing Suyeon’s hand as they bolted toward the back of the room.
They dashed through another door, barely escaping the hail of bullets behind them. Suyeon’s adrenaline surged as they raced through the narrow corridors, every turn feeling like a potential trap.
“We need to find a way out of here!” Suyeon yelled, her lungs burning.
“I know! Just keep moving!” Jungkook replied, determination in his voice.
As they turned another corner, they stumbled upon a small window leading to the outside. Jungkook pushed it open, and they clambered through just as more men poured into the room behind them.
They landed on the ground outside, rolling to break their fall. Jungkook quickly got to his feet, scanning their surroundings.
“We need to get to the main street,” he said, urgency in his voice. “We can find a vehicle there.”
As they sprinted toward the street, the sounds of chaos echoed behind them. Suyeon felt her heart racing as they ran, knowing that Minho was not far behind.
Just as they reached the edge of the street, a car screeched to a halt in front of them. It was Liam, his expression frantic.
“Get in!” he shouted, and they didn’t hesitate.
They jumped into the backseat, and Liam slammed the gas pedal. “Hold on!” he yelled as he sped away, leaving chaos in their wake.
“What happened back there?” Liam asked, glancing at them in the rearview mirror.
“Minho’s men found us,” Jungkook said, his voice tense. “We need to get to safety.”
“I know a place,” Liam replied, his expression serious. “But we have to move fast. He won’t stop until he finds you.”
As they drove through the city, Suyeon felt a mix of fear and determination. They were on the brink of something monumental, and they had to stay one step ahead of Minho.
“We need to confront him,” Suyeon said, her voice steady. “If we can get him in the open, we might be able to expose him once and for all.”
Jungkook nodded, his eyes burning with resolve. “We’ll gather the evidence we need, and then we’ll take him down. Together.”
