The distress signal blared through the monastery.

The team fumbled together in the living room and answered the call. Clark appeared on the screen; he was inside the Temple, his brown eyes wild with panic. "Ninja!" he gasped out.

"What is it?" Wu demanded.

"It's the Sons of Darkness," Clark blurted out. "They're attacking the Temple!"

Gasps came from the ninja team.

"How did they find it?" Cole questioned.

"It's the map," came Phil's voice as the Guardian fumbled into the screen. He dropped a bunch of scrolls onto the desk before saying, "They've unlocked it. They're coming after the Energy Crystal!"

A rumble shook the screen and Phil and Clark staggered on their feet.

"They're inside," Clark realized in horror.

"We will be there as soon as we can," Wu told them.

"We don't know where it is," Jay pointed out.

"I do," Vanessa broke in. "I can show you the way."

Wu nodded to her before turning to the others. "Everyone, to the Bounty!" he announced.

After grabbing their weapons, the team piled onto the Bounty. They flew toward Vanessa's directions with as much speed as possible. They knew it had only been a matter of time before the Sons of Darkness unlocked the map; now, their enemies had nothing stopping them from finding the last three Crystals.

When they arrived at the Temple, they could already see the battle and destruction that was going on. The Sons of Darkness' purple magic pulsed around every corner of the ancient building, and the Guardians' crackling whips struck back at them. The Bounty landed on the grass outside the Temple and the ninja leaped off, darting into the battle.

Fighting alongside the Guardians, both teams had to outnumber the Sons of Darkness. Yet it seemed numbers didn't matter, for the immense power each gang member held was enough to suffice for ten times their size. The ninja and Guardians still fought with all they had, and for a while, the Sons of Darkness faltered.

Slipping through the battle, Clark found Marissa and pulled her aside. "Here," he said, passing her a suit of Deepstone armor. "I've altered this one specially for you. It should protect you from dark magic, but it won't limit you from using your own power."

Marissa took it, admiring the blue and gray stones. "Will it work?" she asked.

Clark pushed his glasses up his nose as he glanced around the chaotic Temple. "I haven't gotten much time to test it before we were attacked," he admitted, "but there's no better time to try it like the present."

They both rolled sideways as a blast of magic shot toward them.

"Thanks," Marissa panted. "I'll test it for you!"

Nodding, Clark sped back into the battle to give another suit to Chelsea.

An explosion of magic threw Kai through the Temple gates. Rolling back to his feet, he struck his sword at his opponent and tossed him sideways. Kai scanned the courtyard, watching the battle unfold viciously around him. The Sons of Darkness weren't messing around, but neither were the Guardians. Both sides fought mercilessly; the Guardians were able to keep their enemies from the main interior of the Temple, where Kai assumed the Energy Crystal was held.

Then as he fought off multiple other gang members, a flash of purple shot past him. It moved so quickly it seemed to glitch, but a cloud of purple mist was left in its trail. Gasping, Kai spun around and spotted the shadowy figure of Sleete disappear inside the Temple.
